Go to www.maximumtuning.net get the number and give Jeff a call. It will probably run you around $500 with a tranny cooler and shipping or installation if needed. I don't know what they are charging right now, there was a group deal before and I do not know if that is still going on.

Jeff a good guy to work with and they are on the ball. They did mine and I am happy with it.

Not to stunt Mobile Tek, but from what I have heard that is not the best place to go for a VB at this point. There have been some people left high and dry with them. Maximum Tuning is better in my opinion.

 

i have heard that a time or two....im also looking into getting this done soon so i just posted the two places i KNEW that did do the recal. Does anyone know if Maximum Tuning can get me a recalibrated VB with no downtime?? I cant afford any downtime....let me know...

Im looking to do the stage 3....i wouldnt mind knowing a little more about this mod too. and does anyone have an info on installing the tranny cooler?? I am thinking about going ahead doing that BEFORE i get the recalibrated VB, so i dont have to worry about it later...know what i mean?

 

youll definately feel the difference. i love the 1-2 shifts especially. it was defly worth it. mine isnt a stage 3..its not severe or anything but you can still feel it. in ny itll be annoying with a stage 3...stage 3 id put in if my car was just for weekends, takin out on the track or driving in open roads all the time.

for a 5 speed swap look to spend just a little under 3000 for parts and labor..including aftermarket clutch and short throw..
lil more for the flywheel and what not

you can get a transmission oil cooler from pep boys even. haydens pretty good..jsut about all of em do the same job. i dont think installs a PITA.. you can defly put it on before u do the vb..no problems i woudlnt think..cause the coolers located towards the front of the car and all..

 

wouldnt it be better just to buy a supercharger instead of wasting 3000 on a 5 speed swap

 

how many people do you know have an auto that is supercharged?? and then how many people do you know have supercharged autos that HAVENT blown out their trannys??

dammm... i had no idea...that must suck but 3000 for a tranny swap is alot....goodluck with it and i know ull have fun....i wish i had stick....

 

also you have to think about the numbers..the 2000 5 speed maxima is a LOT faster than the auto version..auto 0-60 is 7.6 while 5 speed i think is about 6.7 or 6.9. i think you get like 20 hp more at the wheels too with a 5 speed..

so basically if you wanna prep for boost..youd defly either wanna spend like 3 g's on your AUTO maxima..or swap to 5 speed and get boost
either way..you gotta do something nkow wut i mean?

 

if u notice autos have a major lag from 1-2, so the vb mod helps youre tranny shift their faster without delaying time, u dont gain horsepower so it definintly will not effect top end, by the way Ras have u tested youre 1/4 after the vb?????
