ECM update question

Going to get the hesitation update to the ECM done on Friday but the dealer says he is out of MAFs. I understand that depending upon the build date of the car (and hence the ECM version)the update requires a new MAF and flash or on later 2K2s, just a flash of the ECM. Any idea on what build dates require the new MAF too?

I see you have a manual 2k2...according to the TSB the following would require a MAF replacement in your car:

Current ECM P/N = 23710-5Y701, 5Y700
ECM ID Code = 030101

Mine was an earlier 2002 build date and they ordered me a MAF too. I think build date was in Jan 2002? For me the TSB correction made a HUGE difference. Hesitation gone. beofre it almost felt like the car was about to stall and then it would kick in to some power. Kind of bucked you in the seat. Now its smooth and effortless. Had mine done a few weeks ago.

Actually Jan. 2002 would be considered a late build date on an '02 since they first started making them in March or April 2001 and I think the last were built in March '02. Mine is also a Jan build date. Thanks for the feedback regarding your observations on the difference it made, its nice to get free hp.

Mine was built in Oct 01 and had the MAF replaced.

Unfortunately, mine still has the hesitation problem. The dealer claims they did the ECM flash with the latest update, but I don't believe them.
