Stillen Kit with Powertech ... ?

Does anyone have a Powertech with a Stillen kit ? I just want to know if my dual pipes will clear the rear valence...

Yah, what mufflers will fit the rear valence? I have been holding off getting an exhaust, b/c I might be getting a stillen kit at the end of the summer.

Do you guys think I can modify the rear to fit, or should I just count on having to buy another Fart can ?

dude, PM hitmanse
i think he told me the opening in the rear piece is 7", so i guess if your dual muffler isn't bigger than 7" than it should fit

o ya, i remember about 1 1/2 when we both bought our car at the same time, YOU SAID YOU AIN'T GONNA MOD YOUR MAXIMA

im pretty sure y2kev shaved off some of his rear valence to get some clearance for his greddy..

i remember kev said its b/c his car is sitting lower than most other lowered maximas and that's why he needed to shave

The opening on the rear valence is only 7 1/2 inches wide...keep that in mind and check the width of the muffler. I had to use a single tip Remus instead of a dual tip due to that.

Whatever you got to tell yourself to make you enjoy your stock Maxima. I have dual 3.5s and get nothing but compliments.

Are you on something? How exactly would it look "domestic" with wider tips? I guess that means all these Honda fart pipes the kids are buying really make them look Domestic too?!? That makes no sense. What about a fart can on the Supra you want? The aftermarket exhaust tip is huge on those! Does that make it look domestic too?

This has to be the first post I've seen that puts down the look of the Powertech. I think it's a nicer look than huge single opening on the Greddy and some others.

I just put a 1011 on my 2K, and I get nothing but compliments on the look and the sound. It's a little ricey if you consider that there's no real performance gain, but it still looks damn good, and the car sounds a lot nicer than stock.

I like it very much and would like to keep it with the Stillen kit, but it looks like it wont be possible.

I have the greddy and i think it looks great with the stillen rear. The top of it barely touches the stillen rear. Unfortunately, i scrape my greddy all the time since i am SOO low to the ground...

heres a pic...

I've seen your dual 3.5s, looked good to me. Maybe it's the factory in Tennessee that makes 'em look domestic?

Close, I got the dual 3" I wanted to get dual 3.5" but it would not fit. The opening in the rear valence is only 7" wide. Dual 3.5" might fit with some modification but try to leave atleast a 1/4" clearance from the tips and the kit. Wouldnt want anything to melt
The dual 3" I got is an overall 6.5" from one end to the other leaving just .25" to clear the kit. Your gonna have to shave off a good inch or more like .5" from each side to be able to get dual 3.5" tips to fit, yet alone your 4" I wouldnt modify it too much personally, but its you call man. just my .02

I think my only option is the Greddy Evo, Hks rear section, or just a titanium tip HKS muffler.....

I personally like the dual tip look and would go with the HKS. I have no clue as to how large the tips are but am considering getting the unit in the future.

BluByu: Matt does this thing drone at all or it just Ive never heard the HKS or GReddy.

Well Im from LA!

The Hitman thing isnt even my original sn, my old one got all jacked up like 1.5yrs ago and I didnt like it anyway so I threw in an old "nickname" and added an SE to it. Kind of a long story, ive never finished a man off be4 nor do I intend on it. I dont brag (nothing to be proud of) but ive done my fair share or brawls, I never start anything for the record. Just was at the wrong place at the right time I guess, too many times I guess old friends called me that due to the way I dealth with those stupid situations, makes me just thinking of all the dumb things ive gotten myself into. Btw just out of curiousity, what does kloogy mean?

yes it does drone below 2500 but above 2500 it has a nice tone. I only have a 12" resonator now but Im getting the 22" magnaflow put on today hopefully.....

the tips are 3.5" and you would need to chave about a 1/2" off each side of the stillen rear valence for it to fit. I will find out if it can be done once there is a front lip available that I like.

Yeah it can be done, I think Jhans or some with a name something close to it has the HKS rear section with the stillen kit and it looks pretty damn good. 3.5 dual tip is possibly the largest that would be able to fit. Ethan modified the front lip to fit didnt he? Why can it not be done again. On a lighter color car it would be kinda obvious its slightly modified but on a darker color car such as yours it shouldnt be too obvious. One thing thats somewhat confusing me is the powertech and most all mufflers seem to drone more then the magnaflow I have seems kinda weird but does drone from 1500-1800 and its really deep but I have the larger resonator that came with the cattman b-pipe. Damn stillen has forgetten about the max, they havnt came out with new **** for a littlw while now.

You know it will help quite a bit, the resonator on mine is 18" I belive from cattman and its does an ok job. Drone only occurs from 1500-1800rpm so im guessin the larger 22" resonator should get rid of most of the the drone. All of it would be a long shot but it should definetly help alot over your current setup which im sure is loud as hell. Im sure you already know all of this though.

Im actually getting used to it. My brother (anskyruben) has a lot more drone than myself. It's all in the muffler , as far as sound differences. I have a pretty raspy sound, but when I gun it, ..look out ! I just need to quiet it down so the Pork Pork leaves me alone...

Oh yes, SD all cops on SoCal are a PITA. The LA cops are the worst by far I get **** almost everytime im down there. I remember a friend got pulled over in his CL-S for his headlights. Umm they are stock HID's last I recall and yeah they pull you over for the exhuast as well. Damn cops. Well im sure a 22" resonator should quiet things down quite a bit. Mine isnt loud at all, just too damn deep in the car other then that its not loud at all. Maybe the 22" will make it too quiet for your taste
