Should I get this 2k2 maxima?

its a blue 2k2 maxima fully loaded with 13k on it. tan interior and looks like new from the inside.

I test drove it alone and what can i tell you, that car is a beast compared to my 2k1. i didnt like that drive by wire throtle, you dont feel a 100% connected with the gas. but it will grow on me.

steering is softer and easier but i love the HID lights. the interior looks a lot more refined and the car feels like it was built with a lot more quailty to it.

the dealer wants 23.5 grand for it and he wont go down, i checked the KBB and that's the price for the retail. you got to consider that its really low mileage car, 12.8k for almost a 2 year old car.

should i go for it?

check www.autotrader.com or www.carsdirect.com and check similar cars in your area to get better idea. That dealer is a joke.

Good luck

You can buy an '03 with no miles for that price. tell him to come down 5K...then you'll consider it.

'03 SE/GXE/GLE generally available (what's left of them) for MSRP-$6000 in north coastal California. Many SEs went for $22,000-24,000. Hertz has literally thousands of '02 SE for $17,000-19,000 with 20,000-25,000 miles and 100,000 mile warranties.

Try edmunds.com Used Car Appraiser:

http://www.edmunds.com/tmv/used/2002...ent..0.Nissan*

Use the info to bargain the dealer down.

edmunds.com TMV is bull!

23.5 for that max is robbery (by the dealer). you could get a new 03 w/everything but nav for 24-25K EASY!

hertz is selling 2k2's for 16K!

a 2k2 w/low miles, lthr, etc should not be over 19.5K!!!

good luck

My 2K2 has 5,000 miles on it...no leather but it's 6 speed. I'll sell it to you for $23,500 Ha!

Seriously, I bought it off the lot last December for $22,900 - new - "leftover" with 8 miles on the odometer.

Yeah, that price is high. I just picked up my '03 SE (with that beautiful Majestic Blue) with 13,000 miles on it. Every option including Nav system (with 2nd map CD from previous owner) for $23,600.

I'd say $20,000 is a fair price for it.

GA Auto Trader has a few good '02-'03 Maximas in there right now, and they'll come off the price a good bit over what's listed. They have a fully loaded (that's every option available) '03 SE 6 speed for $22,900 and I talked them down $2K over the phone. They are willing to make deals if you know what you're talking about and have your research done before you get to the dealer...

no way. i got my 2k2 GLE, every option except navi for 25.5K in april of 2002. 2 grand less for pretty much the same car a year later and 12.8K miles is not very good, IMO.

Where can I buy one of those Hertz cars for 16K?

Also, I am having trouble finding nice 02 or 03 cars (ie with options) for any reasonable price. prices listed on websites are around 25 K I went to a dealer and I told him I was in the 15-18 price range he told me that I'm looking at 2000s not 01s or 02s they're more in the 20-25k price range

Oh boy. You're gonna get a lot of different opinions on that question! I bought my 2K1 from Hertz. The car has been PERFECT. Not a single problem with it. It's actually the second one I bought from them. Granted I only had the first one for 20 minutes, but ...

I'd suggest you don't listen much to the advise you get about buying a car from a rental place on this forum. Do your homework. I was totally against it until I did a ton of research. I couldn't have made a better decision. Plus, I got an 8 month old car for under $16K. Yeah, it had 25K miles on it, but so what? I'll be keeping it for a while ...

Good luck!

I'd be open to a rental also. But they usually come stripped w/auto tranny, most without even the mnrf.

I posted this question in the regional forums already but oh well... Are there any NEW 2003 SE's left in the Atlanta area? Im looking for an SE with 6sp, HLSD, and leather...more options are ok but the three mentioned are important to me. Im overseas right now so I cant check for myself. I'd appreciate any info.

Don't know about the Atlanta area but when I was looking here in the Hartford Connecticut area I was told by several dealers that 6 speed cars were the first Maximas to stop production. Found tons and tons of GLEs and quite a few SEs with automatics but none with 6 speeds. I finally stumbled into the 2003 I bought as a used car with 13,000 miles.
