Getting a Max soon... help with some engine mods please!

Ok soon i will be getting a 2002 maxima 6 speed. anyways from what ive read in the post the the PR intake or frankencar intake is the best for performance gains. the only thing hear is a wanna maintain a stock exhaust sound. ive seen a few people on the board running 13s and thats a goal for me but with a quiet car keeping it looking as stock as possible. what mods can i do to the exhaust that will give me good gains but keep sound down. any suggestions or help would be appreciated. thank you!! Oh yeah i also plan on getting the UDP. later

The UDP is a voodoo mod. I personally think it is useless. Keep your muffler stock and you won't have any noise problems whatsoever.

Try keeping the car stock for a while. You just might like it.

Well i wanna keep the muffler stock but i want the car to pull harder than stock. My current car is a honda prelude but im wanting more luxury now with some speed and the maxima is perfect.

Hey I switched from a prelude as well, check out my profile for pics, and going from the prelude to the maxima was not in the same field at all as far as speed. The difference was amazing. The only problem I have is the suspension. The prelude was awesome at handling. I would spend your money on that 1st... springs, shocks, rsb.

Hmm.. doing your exhaust will free up a lot of HP so you'd be loosing on an easy mod there... You can probably get a y-pipe and redo the catback with 2.5" and get a b-pipe and keep the stock exhaust..

But if you want to keep the stock look just get some nitrous and you'll be in the 12's
