splash guards
splash guards
I see that my local dealer has pre-painted splash guards for gen5 maxima (~$80 for set of 4). Anyone kow if these are the same as the factory units? It says "requires no drilling" in the ad... how do they attach? anyone done this? are you happy with them?
They are probably the same as the factory ones. Im not sure how they attach mine are factory and there are no visible screws that i can think of and they work pretty well plust they dont look ugly or stand out that much since they match the car. and for $80 i say get em they will save you some rock chips.

I would say check Courtesy Nissan or Jerry Rome Nissan first to see what their prices are. Make sure to mention you're from Maxima.org. If you decide to order from Courtesy talk to either Kaleb or Steve.
Whoever ends up getting quotes, please post and let us all know! I know www.nissan-accessories.com sells the painted sets for $83.07 shipped.

Re: splash guards
Those should be the same as the ones as the splash guards that already come with some Maximas.
I don't know about 'no drilling,' though. If you remove the wheels, I guess the included screws can be put in with enough force. But if you want to make things easier, a drill with the right size bit will be better. There is no pre-drilled hole on the car for you to work with, only some marked spots. For me, I used a Dremel with the right bit, so I didn't need to remove the wheels. The holes you need to make are easier to get at and do on the front than on the back.
Overall, it's a simple proceedure. My '01 SE is Icelandic Pearl, but I got my splash guards in black (no paint) as it contrasts nice with the white.
