My Service Engine Soon light comes on and stays on now since yesterday. (i just bought this car, 97 se 5 speed with se security&conv pakcage 2 weeks ago with 100k miles .) i know that this gen maxima has the light coming on often when the computer isnt reset or something, and that people always tell me theyre fixing a oxygen sesnor switch easily. Could this be possible? a cheap switch needs to be fixed? the engine runs perfect.

... btw my 92se 5 spd's timing chain broke and ruined the vslves in that car at 255k miles. i still have my 89se auto with 194k .

you may want to post this in the 4th gen section but they will just lock it anyways b/c you need to either take the car to autozone and have the code pulled for free or read the 4th faq and learn how to read the codes.

 

Great call on the free part...headin to Auto Zone now! My light is on t00- Already replaced the O2 sensor. Might have to flash the ECU Hmmm great car but these smog components ruin them like the time of the month ruins a hot date.
