I've been very pleased with my Maxima. I do beat on it on every now and then, but I am also out there every single weekend babying it, even if that means picking the pine needles off of it, making sure the engine compartment is wiped down, or changing the oil every 3,000 miles.

I'm kinda offended by this. There are TSBs out regarding the transmission. That means there are known issues with the transmission. If the car has a 222 hp engine the transmission needs to be able to handle it for more than 13k miles.
WTF good is a $25 "investment" if it falls apart with fairly normal driving? I've never taken this car to the track to test my 0-60. I've only peeled out by accident in the rain. I don't manually shift it so it can go faster. I don't think you'd be talking this way if you had a car with similar problems.
For god's sake, use your capslock key.
All the rest of my comments I will keep to myself as this is supposed to be a friendly place.
ooops not my bad that i chop into my car to fit the system i want..
doode it's my car i drive it how i like, and same goes to u.. and if the car breaks.. then oh well our problem. u dont' gotta get all mad about something breaking that isnt' even yours..
*the above is not a flame. just a friendly reminder that no one is absolute thus cannot use him/herself as a standard.

Number 1.
Learn to type with your Caps Lock off.
Number 2.
If I want to peel out in my max.
I can rag out in the thing as hard as I want. Then I should be able to.
If I want to "bitc*" about the problems the car has.
Then I have a right to.
So don't go around telling us how to "invest" our money.
If it was your money we invested, fine bitc* all you want.
If you want more of my constructive criticism then tell me.

j/p
same type of 8itching sounds half as stupid.
and I cant help
wondering what the hell your problem is. I for one do not beat up my car. I've taken great care with it. I was too big of a wuss to even dyno it. I've never raced it, spun the tires and my spirited driving is pretty rare.
Given that there are TWO! new tranmission modules available AND TWO TSB's regarding the matter AND cars are failing within 12K, there must be a bit more than bad driving to it.
Also, if you read more you would understand that we have the same tranny as the early year models (pre-2k, lower HP)... Honda is having the EXACT same problems because of the HP increases.
So what I dont understand is your need to harrass us. Does it make you sleep better at night *thinking* it cant possibly happen to your car? BTW, if you have had the car over one year, then you have the old tranny control module. Its your own ignorance if you want to ignore the TSB and not fight for the updated part. you see, when yours does slip it will probably be too late. I didnt fight that hard for my new module because I thought I didnt drive that hard.
I just got mine back from the shop. You see it only slips when I try to merge into traffic every great once and awhile. I dont want my wife driving it because it can leave you trying to cross traffic without being able to accelerate. However, the dealer cant seem to replicate the problem. Since I dont beat my car, it hasnt just outright failed.
I certainly wont be jumping to help you when yours slips. Its ok.. mine was good for the first year too. Good luck, dont come running to us when youre fighting with the dealer for repair.

I drive my auto hard and I love every second of it. If it breaks, who pays for it? You? No! Me! So why are you complaining?
My GF doesn't drive her max (pre-supercharger) hard and her tranny went out at 26k. So now what?

get it crunk kev!
When was the last time you saw a commercial for the Maxima where they weren't hauling *** in the dessert, or plowing through water going sideways?
Now tell me I shouldn't give it a little hell every once in a while too! And if the car can't take it....whose problem is that? Nissan's! Because if it doesn't live up to as advertised...I will NOT buy a third Max!
