Yeah, I have one....havent tested it on the

Maxima (a G-Tech quarter mile pass versus a track quarter mile pass) but I tested it extensively on my old car, it's not bad, the G-Tech seems to be consistently about two tenths and two MPH fast...

It's pretty cool to use, actually

I was reading up on it-lots of features- considering buying
one- just wondering how'd adjust to elevation factors? Or even if it matters- Anyway for $250 its worth just playin with it/to test for
changes after mods- thanx

anyone know how hard these are to wire up to our maximas, or if there is even any wiring that needs to be done?

It uses an accelerometer (sp?) to figure out the car's acceleration & speed... you enter the car's weight, and the wonderful world of mathematics does the rest. No wiring needed.

I'm actually looking into getting one too... although it'd be nice to find a similar gadget that wires into the car so you could get RPMs in there too....

The origional GTech Pro is still around $140, but they have a new GTech Pro Competition model that's $250. The new one is pretty snazzy looking, it makes the digital read-out of the first look like a pager. It will even dump graphs and history info out to your pc (of course that's another $50 for the cables & software).

The more I read about it, the more I want one...

Same here plain on getting one. Custommaxima offers it now maybe we can talk Greg into a group deal.

According to the description on CustomMaxima it looks like it comes with all the cables you need to hook it up to your computer. It looks like it will even make dyno charts. It would be great to be able to do a mod and get dyno results whenever you wanted

As cool as it is $250 is a bit much for me, if we could geta group deal that knocked the price down a bit I would probably be in.

We are selling quite a few of them and gotten nothing but positive responses from our customers. If you shop around you will see that EVERYONE sells it for $249, the manufacturer locked in the price where we cannot sell it any lower. I will make some phone calls to see if we can sell it lower for a group deal. But even at $249 its well worth every penny.

Doesn't the Apexi RSM have all the same functions as the G-Tech Competition? And doesn't the Apexi get rid of the Speed LImiter as well?

Just Curious

It's also $375 to get the total package...

$275 for the RSM
$75 for the g-force meter
$25 for the mounting stand.

It also wires in so that you get RPMs, and on certain vehicles it can get around the limiter.

It really works well, but it is difficult to find a vacant piece of roadway that you can safely get your car up to 100 mph from a stop.

I didn't realize the Apexi had additional costs. Does the G-Tech need any wiring or does it just plug into the lighter?

It just plugs in.

ASU174, do you need to start from a standstill for all the functions, or is that just to get a good HP/Torque dyno (as well as times obviously)?

Standstill for most of the stuff. I had it for a week before I sold it. I was just asking for jail time with that thing.

That's pretty RUDE, so I'm hoping you are joking.

BTW, I have the old version and it works great. According, to my 1-time at the track and numerous G-tech runs, I'd have to say it's accurate enough for our purposes. I'd GUESStimate it is within 2-tenths, but the trap is about 5mph high because it measures your speed at the 1/4-mile mark not the average speed over the last few feet of the 1/4 like at the track. However, unless you are comparing against OTHER vehicles it doesn't matter, because for BEFORE/AFTER mods it's perfect.

Doesn't anyone have a sense of humour anymore?
I'm not taking any offense to my new title
Thanks for the info on the g-tech, sounds like what I'm looking for.
Btw- Do you know how the new generation one measures rpms? If it's by sound does that mean if you have a hole in your muffler or the stereo cranked you'll get different results

It's "senses" your RPM through the cig socket/electrical system/alternator output. How exactly I don't know.
