EZ-Pass Location

Anyone know if the NYS EZ-Pass will work from inside the eyeglass compartment in the ceiling of my 2000 SE?

Thanks,

Ed

good question! I have never thought about that one and not sure if I really want to since you can risk a fine at the tolls for not having mounted on your windshield. Even if it works but the time you spent figuring things out might cost up to $25. In any event, you can get the license plate mounted one but the downside to that is it is vulnerable to the elements (the people who cant park elements) and they may crack. If and when they do, you must pay $25 for a new one. This is what I was told by the Ezpass cleark in Yonkers. Lots of people are tee'd off when they stop working and found out they must pay to play again...

I didn't realize it was a requirement to have it on the windshield. Interesting. As far as the license plate version, I have one for my AstroVan. There was no charge for it. I think you can get up to 4 tags with no charge. I have an extra inside tag that I accidently ordered off the website. No charge again. Thanks for the reply. Guess I'll just leave in on the Windshield above the mirror in the tinted area so you can't see it from the outside. My sunglasses will be happy about that decision.

Yes, it is a required that it is mounted on your winshield but who really wants that fugly thing in their windshield. I keep mines in the glove compartment and just throw it over the dash when going through the toll booth. I only have to use it once per day so its not a major inconvenience. That is if you dont include the time it was lost inside some dunkin donuts napkins and I was sweating bullets

Just get the ones that go on the license plate. Everyone thinks it's a radar jammer

NOt so bad

We have these in ATLANTA too....

I have mine mounted flush where the glass meets the headliner directly BEHIND the RVMirror --> I barely EVER notice it!

fairly sure ours is direct line of site -- they don't transmit very well....

Hey did you know that they accept EZPass at McDonald's drive through. It gives people who are low on cash with an EZPass to still be able to purchase some of the world's unhealthiest foods.
