boxster
To my surprise I hung with a newer model Porsche Boxster today, 0-60, he had me by maybe a 1/2 car length if that (I know for a fact he was trying, I heard that Porsche engine screaming.) I thought he would massacre me. Open road, no other cars around.
Not too shabby for a family car.
2k3 SE auto, no mods.

this tiny little TT almost every day-same time going to work-
and I break his hart every day -same time going to work- those
little roadsters should be alot faster than the are for the$$$
I raced a 2003 Acoord V6 Coupe and he hung with me! Of course I let him as I was in my 1991 Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo. It only has a few mods that put it into the mid 12 to upper 12 range though.
Sometimes people win by only as much as they have to. Don't let it go to your head that a 15 second car can REALLY hang with a 14 something second Boxster. I guess if that's what makes you happy though...

How does a sub-15 second Accord hang with 12sec Stealth?
Also, which 15 second car are you talking about? The 2k2/3 Max? They do low-high 14's on average.

I wasn't trying to stroke myself off dude, I was just pointing out how I was impressed that a $21,000 "family" sedan could hang with a $42,000 sports car. I would be willing to bet he wasn't letting me hang with him, if you heard his car screaming you would know what I mean.
BTW check this out from the Porsche site:
http://www3.us.porsche.com/english/usa/home.htm
Those numbers aren't that impressive to me for the money.
Just my opinion.

I'm well aware of that. I was giving out the range of what the 2k2/3's can do.

An auto 02/03 can take out a Plain boxster from a start how do i know my wife did it with me on the passenger side and he told her damn that car is quicker than I thought, she won by 3/4 car. BTW what mods do you have to be able to run with the 3.5's?

In other words, boxster will not smoke an auto maxima, and manual max (if nothing goes wrong) will win.
first of all if you got that max for that much you must have given the salesman head...and second of all if that boxter isnt a type S...we CAN hang with um because they are slow....i see more of those friggin boxters than i do max's in alpharetta GA...they suck for the money dudes just wanna think they are macks drvin around in porsche

thats just my theory though
old boxster= we can take. new boxster (gave slight bump in hp to base boxster)= drivers race for auto, win for stick if driven properly.
boxster S=boxster wins. this is stock vs. stock of course.

It is KNOWN that Boxters are not fast in a straight line. But they do handle great, and the brakes are amazing. I'd take a Boxster over a Maxima, straight line speed isint everything, same reason I'd take a Maxima over a Camaro or Transam.
BTW: Audi TT's will lose against Maximas (5th gen) also.
PS: I do agree how fun it would be to show someone who thinks their boxster is a super-fast straightline car that a big maxima is quicker.

I would buy an American truck though, and probably will in the next year or two.
