2001 Brake Pad Wear
2001 Brake Pad Wear
At 50,000 miles, I recently changed the brake pads for the first time on my 2001 Maxima. The rear pads were worn and needed replacing while the front pads still had half the pad left. Normally, front pads wear out first on most cars. Is this normal for a 2001 Maxima or is something wrong with my braking system? The car brakes just fine and does not have any braking problems. Your insight is appreciated.

Yeah its weird, ive changed Y2kSeSteve's pads on all 4 but his rears were worst then the fronts were. Same with ASU174's when he still rolled with this 2K, he had 45K on his and I changed out the rears and the front was fine. I checked my fronts at 26K and the there was like 2-3mm left so I said screw it ill let it ride out to 30K and check again. So far I have no noise from the sensors and will check again in 1K
Ive changed pads on a couple other 2k's and the fronts were at a good 55K the first car and the rears were fine and the other car needed all four at 60K. I dont know what nissan has done with the brakes but as long as it stops the car I dont really care
