clear bra

This weekend I am going to attempt to install the clear bra on my car. Has anyone here tried this on their own with any success. What advice or tips could you pass on to save me some grief in the process. No one in my area installs these, so I have no choice but to try it. Before I get any stone chips. Thanks

I watched my installer do it and I can honestly say it doesn't seem like a DIY kind of thing. My installer traveled from a neighboring STATE to install my 3M Clear Bra. Sorry I couldn't be more help. BTW I contacted my installed via Stoneguard's website. Good Luck!!

I have done this a few weeks ago. Got mines from www.xpel.com Ths install was smooth except for the mirrors. The mirrors are tricky to do so take your time with it, I really screwed mines up. The hood is really easy to do. If you have water bubbles just let it go away naturally through the heat of the sun. This will take a couple of weeks depending on how hot it is where you are.

Be sure your paint is clean, wax free and your enviroment is controlled and dust free.

Best advice..take your time! Don't get impatient like I did and everything will be OK.

Got this off of Invinca-Shield's web site. Are these guys close to you?

The difficulty depends on how many pieses you have. I did the 6 inch hood piece and the small pieces on the sides of the headlights. Never tried this before and it went well. If you have the full front bumper piece, have it professionally installed!! That would be a bietch to do!!

I noticed what seemed to be many small bubbles after I put it on. I tried to remove them, but couldn't. (in fact, I put some minor scratch marks in the film from squeegeing it so hard) The next morning, they were gone! I heard later that the film actually 'breathes' and those really small ones will go away by themselves....and they did.

Anyone tried using heatgun or blowdryer to get rid of the bubbles.
Some tint shops use it.

Dutton, would not actually be that far away. However, they dont install invinca shield anymore and the closest installer is over 300 miles away. What a pain in the **s.

Take you're time, and do it with a friend. This way, you can both agree that a piece (such as the one for the hood) is lined up. Dilute the solution more as the video suggests you can do, to give you extra time to setup things right.

After having mine on for over a year, I would say the hood and front fender flares are a must. The front bumper and rear bumper top are second because they are plastic and if they get chipped at least they wont rust. Dont do the mirrors and door cups they've look like sheeiitt from day one IMO.
