In Nissans eyes, everything added voids the warranty. Just take it off when you go in for service.

When they do release these, how many horses would you say we will be looking at?

I think he was looking for something EASY and CHEAP. Installing headers is neither one. And headers would almost certainly be an issue with the warranty.

Truly the only thing you can do that will not create warranty problems would be an aftermarket air filter, such as K&N. You can expect up to 10HP.

Of course, some dealers will overlook things like headers or intakes, but they would be on firm ground to deny your claim if it can be linked to your modification.

More air equals more power. That's the whole concept behind turbos and superchargers; they force feed air into the engine. By simply installing a less-restrictive air filter, or by making the airflow path a more direct route to the engine (intake), you can increase the engine's power.

Here's an explanation: http://www.knfilters.com/facts.htm

i had to take off my intake since i got a fix it ticket... but if you dont wana pay ANYTHING ... just pop in a replaceable filter and but dont put the top back on.. instead get a high temperatured tape and tape it... sounds loud and u get like 3-4 horsepowers... (but thats if you dont wana spend any money on your wonderful max)

however if you do want to get some good hp increase.... and you are willin to drop 400 bucks get a JWT or STillen pop charger and a y-pipe
u can get bout 20-25 hp increase (most comes from the y-pipe)

I think it depends on the engine. The 3.0 VQ does very well with the Y pipe, but the 3.5VQ doesn't benefit much from it as I recall . . .
