Brake pads and rotor upgrades

Just wondering what kind of pad rotor combo's people have and what they think. I have to get new rotors and pads cause living overseas my warrenty was not valid on the rotor replacement and I think this would be a good time to upgrade a bit. I am not looking for $$$$ big brake kits, just pads and rotors and where to get them...thanks

How many miles have you had them on the car?

2K2 and 2K3s have different front rotors than the 99-01s and some aftermarket companies aren't aware of this. I have contacted both Powerslot and EBC and they confirmed relese of the proper rotors last week. Rear rotors are still the same so most companies that offer rotors should have them already. I personally will go with the PowerSlots and Hawk pads. BTW, Greg Vogel at Mossy Nissan gives great service for the PowerSlots and EBCs can be had from Brakes-R-Us.

Thanks guys.
I was looking at the power slots on custom max but he doesn't list rear pads. i am also leary about slotted rotors cause they shave the pad and although it may be just a fraction it adds up to shorter pad life. I was looking for cross drilled but every one sells the slotted and drilled or just slotted

If you're looking for just X-drilled, Stillen should have their's ready by now. I called them a month ago and Brian from the Brake Pros section said they should be out by late June-early July. I have used slotted rotors on several apps with a variety of different pads and have noticed little difference in pad life. Performance pads won't last quite as long as most OEM or similar pads anyway but as with any upgrade there will always be a trade-off. Personally, I'd much rather change pads more often and enjoy the extra stopping power.

Has anyone had warping issues with these PowerSlot rotors? My OEM rotors are so warped that at over 70 hard braking will cause the steering wheel to rip out of my hand. I don't want to invest $200 if the rotors will warp just as bad.

Have had 7 sets on 6 different cars and none of them have ever warped or developed any judder problems. Almost all of their rotors start with Brembo blanks and the for those that don't have a Brembo app., they get sourced from a reputable supplier. They are VERY picky about what rotors they start with. I think you will be happy with them.

To answer ur Question Jnovember,....They've been on for over 2500 miles,And have succesfully slowed me down from OVER 110MPH a lot of times and no fading. The only thing u will notice is squealing from the dust produced by the HAWK performance pads, and thats only if they dont use anti-squeal,Like the jack-a$$es that did my brakes didnt . But other than that they're excellent quality breaks. I'de stay away from X-drilled as they tend to crack under heavy breaking. Just go with Powerslots F/R,Hawk Front pads and whatever rear pad u can find thats pretty performance oriented as the brake bias is mostly on the front wheels,The rears dont do much.
