ipod adapter

I'm looking for an aux input adapter for stock Bose stereo on my '01 SE to use with my iPod. Does anyone have a good source for this item? I've tried the search but to no avail.

Thanks.

Take a look at this site. These should go on sale soon. They sell other ways of connecting as well:

IIRC there is no aux connector on the bose system. TimW did something where he tapped into the CD-changer input to hook up his satellite radio but it didn't work too well.

The easy solution is to get a FM Modulator for your ipod, it just plugs into the headphone jack and plays on your radio via a special FM station it puts out. You can get these at Radioshack, ebay, whatever. The other way to go is the tape adapter or replace your headunit.

i'm getting ipod in a few weeks. I'll be getting itrip which connects to the top of the ipod and allows you to tune into any FM station you chose to get signal. It uses power from the ipod so no batteries are required. The itrip for the new ipods goes on sale July 21st. Do a search on the internet to find a retailer.

thanks for your suggestions. i'm currently using a tape adapter now and it's not bad, but once I heard a direct-connect on my Odyssey, i wanted it in the maxima too! i tried the fm modulator...it was terrible because the stations would be overpowered by other signals from time to time. oh well, i guess i'll stick with that tape adapter.

Re: ipod adapter

Yeah, too bad Nissan didn't put an AUX input into their Maxima head units. The '04 Sentra now has a direct AUX input for things like external MP3 and VCD/DVD players.

The easiest way to go would be a cassette adapter. Or get an FM modulator like bobcat and pmas76 said that attaches to your external player and transmits to the head unit. If you really want a 3.5mm female connector for 'direct connect,' you'd have to go with an FM modulator going to the built-in head unit and wired to your car's power.
