wassup everyone,
i finally found the 2k max se im gonna get, its drk green, tan cloth interior, loaded, sunroof etc, auto. w 46k miles

sticker price is 16,900 i know i can get them down, the problem is they have a few people looking at the same car, and sat. morning im gonna go in, hopefully with a rock bottom number im ready to give to them.

what would be the lowest u think a dealer will part with that car?

f.y.i - they say they just got it on the lot by someone who traded it in for a 04 max on tuesday.
im also giving a down pyt of 2000.
im only trying to finance between 12-13k.

I just got a 2k with leather, 41k miles for $15300 which includes the extra service contract that gives me almost bumper to bumper out to the remainder of 72 months, 100,000 miles. This cost me $695. I also got them to agree to throw in a set of snow tires. The tires on the car are close to being used up, so I'll replace them next spring. Mine is an SE with 17" wheels.

With a cloth interior and 46k miles, it should be much less than that. I would really look around, b/c and auto in a 2k isn't hard to find.... Check out autotrader.com or bargainnews.com.

Gotta love the 5th gens in the dark forest green color. I would love to see what the 5th gen would look like in a red.

i bought my 2k max se with 60k, leather, meridian, bose, and auto for about 14k you should get the dealer down to about the same or maybe a little less

the other question i had was with the warranty they are offering...

3 yrs 36k miles - selling it to me for 1050.00

can i get a warranty on my own, and is that too high?

That's what I got. But they started at $995 and I kept saying no until they dropped their price to $695. I thought that was well worth it.
Also, check the limits again, mine was the remainder of 72 months or 100,000 miles from when the car was new. That gives me slightly less than 36 months cause the car was originally sold in March 2000.

Just my .02, I paid 16800 for a Gle with everything a few months ago w/31k and I got the satin blue w/frost leather and love this color my next choice was the green youre looking at I was lucky to find this color so I jumped on it. As for the warr go online and search I got one from warrantybynet.com and covers basically bumper to bumper for 7yrs or 100 from the day I bought it and it was arround a grand w/$100 ded. Good luck

just to give an update...after i decided on getting the car, the finance mgr is typing up the official contract, and the price on the contract is 1100.00 more than we had agreed, even after tax,tags, etc.

so just like anyone would, i got up and left, advising him to get the numbers right, and give me a call.

I had a similar experience, the finance person came up $100 higher. Even her trainee agreed with me but she just believed what the computer screen told her. Finally, the owner walked in, looked at the screen and said, "That's wrong-adjust the trade-in price by $100 to make it right". What's with these finance people? I guess they are not accountants, just salesman with a different title and their own office.
