20 inch rims

I know that there are 5 Gen Maxima's out there with 20's on them but I have a question anyway.

I called Tire Discount to inquire about 20 inch rims for my 2002 Maxima SE.

The sales rep told me that the largest size rims for my vehicle are 19's.

I told him that I know that there are people who have 20's on there 5 Gen Maxima's and I mentioned that on this website I have seen posts of my model with 20's.

The rims that I am interested in fit a 2004 Maxima but let me put up the specs and let you guys see what you think:

20x8.5
5x114.3
35 offset

Suggested tire options: 255/35/20, 245/35/20, 275/30/20, 285/30/20

A friend of mine has a a Maxima with 19's and there is still quite of bit of gap so I figure that the 20's I listed above should work.

I would also like to lower the car, but I have not checked into that yet because I am still trying to figure out the wheel and tire thing first.

Ok Ill confirm the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 for the 5th gen. It should fit just fine but when the suspension compresses all the way or if you have people in the back, ect... you might have slight rubbing but no big deal. Dont get springs that lower too much, maxspeeds should be just fine and give an alright ride for 20's since the sidewall is pretty thin. 255 is the most you should even consider goin on these cars, but Id personally stick with 245/35/20 or even 245/30/20 but the 35's will give a slightly better ride due to more rubber between the rim and road.
35mm offset should be just fine, 40 will even work.

in my opinion, i think 20's are too big for the max, if you do go with that route, you should get deep dish

I have decided to go with 19's because I don't want limited options when I lower my car.
