Just a note to let you know this links really works. I tried the overnight disconnect and I still had my SES light on. I tried this for a last chance before the dealer visit( we don't have any Autozones around here in Canada). I wasn't holding out much hope but it worked. followed step by step...started car and the light flashed a few times turned it off and back on and it's gone. took it out for a ride and all seems goo

Does it work on 2k-2k1 too? My SES is on from the MAF replacement on Friday. Maybe I'll try it in a few.

With a cable connecting your gas pedal to the throttle body, I would be very suprised.

The '02+ have "drive by wire"

Hey guys I gotta give the credit to "STUDMAN" as I found the fix by using that often overlooked "search" function.....It just came in handy again as my roof would not open. Found the answer in less than a minute(hold the tilt down for a couple seconds and shazam.....roof opens. I love this board

So what you're saying is that if the engine throws a CEL, and your car goes into limp mode, and you determine that it's the MAF, you can do this procedure and everything will work again? Is that right?

I didn't go into limp mode I just had the SES light come on after cleaning my Throttle body and doing a engine shampoo at the same time.
Someone else will have to do the limp mode test

Ain't that the friggin' truth. It seems that once you have the transverse links, the MAF replaced, the ECU reprogrammed, and a few moan and groans from a dealer about mods.... the car actually works. Go figure.

And as a side note.... the same events have started on my 04 as well. I'm at 4k miles and am already having a CV boot replaced. The airbag light came on as well, so we'll have to see what the dealer has to say about that one too. Here we go again :[

If everything is working in my car and I have no SES light, are there any benefits to resetting the ECU?
