Not sure what happened to my post, but my cd player skips more then ever now. I went with the Tocks and Eibach's. Any suggestions?

I don't know how you would solve the skip problem but suspect it's because the TOK/BACH combo is supposed to be quite firm.

BTW - I am having the same suspension combo put in next Monday. Can you tell me what your first impressions are:
ride height (was it an even drop. Does the Max still have that saggy butt like stock - rear looks lower than front)
ride comfort (ultra-harsh, harsh or firm)
ride performance (and noticable change)
settle - did it get lower or softer after the initial break in?
overall - do you like it?

Thanks.

First impressions were that I LOVE it!!! I believe it was an even drop. I do not believe that the back has that sagging look anymore. I love the way it rides and handles. This car is a totally different car now. Im just in LOVE with it. Hopefully I can get these pics to upload correctly.

Rear drop:

The car looks great. What year and model is that? Mine is a 2003 SE with 225 50 17s: from your pict it looks like your tires have more sidewall (it could just be the pict). If mine looks that good after the drop I'll be very happy.

Buy a better CD player if you don't want it to skip. What else could you do? I don't understand this post. You lowered your car.... oh course it will be bumpier and will make your cd player skip. You could have gone with a softer springs like Maxspeed or H&Rs.

What's not to understand? He's looking for a solution from some of us who may have come across this problem that doesn't involve throwing more money at it. If it's as easy as just spending more cash, I suggest forgetting the less sporty Maxspeed/H&R alternative in favour of buying one of the BMW M Series cars. Why? Because they come with Eibach Springs as standard equipment and I bet their CD player doesn't skip.

Fastness - you mentioned in your original post "it skips more than ever". From this I gather you had probs before the suspension change and it just made it worse. If so, maybe your CD player is a defective POS that can be fixed/replaced. Maybe all the Max Bose systems are POS! So far I've been lucky that I haven't had any skip probs yet.

Sorry all, let me clarify. I have a Kenwood cd player. It never skipped before. I was just wondering if THERE might be any way to tighten the unit in the dash. I am not chaning my set up and I am not complaining. If I have to deal with a couple of skips occasionally, then Im doing just that, dealing with it because I aint going back. This set-up is here to stay, I love it!!! Lets just say Im getting better very quickly at noticing bumps, etc in the road before hand.

Is it loose AT ALL in your dash? Make sure it is very tight and well mounted. Try rubber bushings or washers wherever it mounts...I'm not sure what kind of install you have.

Some CD players skip more than others. My Eclipse skipped every once in a while...my Sony has never skipped...not once! My Nakamichi skipped all the time.

Try posting this in the audio forum, you might get some better advice there!

Tony

I like it, the drop is just perfect, on and off ramps feel like a rollercoaster, and the ride is not to bad.

I got a nice deal on them... like 2k for the setup. (Very happy with OZ quality, highly recommend. I think now they come in silver as well as titanium)
