Today, I got home and checked the mail and found my new Stillen catalog, just waiting for me to read it and get angry about crap I want that they won't make. So I flip through to page 44 and there they are...part # 503400. The Holy Grail. The Cradle of Life. Just for the heck of it, for entertainment purposes only, I called them to ask when the headers were coming out. I fully expected to get the normal '30 days' answer. Well, to my surprise...they actually told the truth for once. The guy told me 'don't look for them for at LEAST another 6 months.' Like I said, i'll give them credit for telling the truth...but I am still pissed and threw the catalog away.

 

There you go, make yourself angry. That's a new one.

 

hmm... surprise surprise. headers wont be available soon. or at this rate ever. someone will probably come out with a blower for the 3.5 before headers. i'll be all over that. but then again i plan on havin the car fro at least 3 more years (probly right around when the headers come out)

I already went through this Donkey. I called these morons on Monday asking the same stupid question. "Oh they will be out but not for another 4 to 5 months. We're having problems with them".
I am getting the same runaround from another manufacturer.

Why don't you guys tell Stillen to take a flying leap and get a header shop to fab some custom headers for you. Then jig them up and go into business. I've contracted a company to do something similar with my "project".

That is a good idea except it is hard to find anyone competent to complete work like this for a decent price. I have talked to Kooks and a few other people and they all want to charge out the ying-yang just for proto-typing and testing the ******. I am not TRULY angry about this btw. I have so much other crap going on that is half done, the headers would just sit in the bathtub for 6 months anyways. I just find it amazing how long they have put this part in their catalog without actually having a part.

I think i'll go on the 5th gen for sale forum and sell my twin turbo kit for the 3.5 now.

 

I have a set of donor manifolds with soon to be gutted pre cats waiting for me at a local shop right now.

When I called them to order my brake pads, I asked about them. They told me that they arent making the power that they want. So, until they get the full HP they claim, they wont release them. Also, they want to make them fit and work w/ as few problems as possible. 6 months is a bit optimistic I say.

Man I dont got anything against either 1 of you, nor do I see a reason 4 any1 to get banned.

As far as the whp gains are concerned, well in the auto alti 3.5 the gains were in the 25whp range,
now those were with prototype hotshot headers. The 3.5 actually ran lean during the dyno (oem injectors
maxed out) so a few whp was also lost to that as well. Now considering the it was an auto and it ran lean
(an FMU upgrade should fix that) with a 6spd (loses less power to wheels) and an FMU to compliment the
headers, im willing to bet that atleast 30whp gain is gonna be the result of the stillen headers. OBX was also
supposed to goin the 3.5 header thing but same with hotshot.
Actually I just got my OBX dealers catalog and it shows headers availble for the 3.0 but not the 3.5 but
aerospeed was supposed to come out with headers on the 3.0 as well but never happened.

Keep in mind the R&D for the max headers is 3x more time consuming then the alti which only takes 2hrs
to do, but the max is actually approaching 6hrs of labor so atleast stillen is taking their time and doing it right.
Stillen does suck in a few ways, but atleast when they make parts the make em right. Just my .02

 

The OBX headers are not available either.
