It should work, but from what I heard, The tomei cams gave a 2k2 max 22-30 fwhp. They are supposed to be better/cheaper than the nismo ones. http://store.yahoo.com/sgpracing-store/tomei1.html

I carry the Nismo cams and yes they are pretty nice camshafts. Fuel management is necessary for them to work best though. S-AFC II at minimum or E-Manage as well as dyno tuning. They do bolt in. I hope to test some soon.

If it is not a significant improvement then
2 grand after lador would hardly be worth it

I kinda was expecting $400 and 4 hours labot like on my mustang
danm imports get expensive to mod

mossy performance dynoed them in www.nissanperformancemag.com's project 350z. They say 15hp increase, the dyno sheet looks more like 20 at the high end. 10hr install though kinda pricey. Log onto www.nissanperformancemag.com and hit this months issue right up and dyno video.

I pulled this off my350z.com.

First off the Tomei cam specs are usually underrated. We have sold all profiles and no one is unhappy or reporting lopey idle. I have a customer with the 264 cams in a Maxima that has reported 22Fwhp and 12 Ft/Lbs of torque increase. The Hp gain was throughout the whole Rpm range. If I can get a dyno chart from the customer I will post it here and/or on our site.

Hope this helps.

Your friend is if he has the tomei cams and just leaves them in his car for 2 months while he procrastinates on some stupid 200 shot nitrous project.

Do you have any ACTUAL pictures of the cams?

I'd like to see them.

Here is the response to my email:
With forced induction like Nitrous, Superchargers,
and/or Turbos you want the highest lift and duration
to get the most air through the motor.
The only thing to worry about when doing the cams is
the labor charge...it is 10-12 hours worth of labor to
swap them out.
I am trying to get the dyno chart from the guy with
the maxima. Once I do I will post it.

He can show you pictures but it still won't prove much. They're Tomei grinds on stock Nissan cores.

$2000 for 12lb/ft of torque?

IMO, I would only get cams if I had a car like a Mustang or Camaro. It's a lot cheaper for them and they have a much bigger selection and seem to get better gains. Spending two thousand dollars for 22hp/12tq seems insane to me.

They are a little over a 1g, so if you can install yourself its not too bad. Would rather get a blower, but thats not an option
