Traded in another 5th gen.......
Traded in another 5th gen.......
Not mine, but my dad's. I think we made out pretty good on this deal. The dealer gave us $12,200 in trade on his 2000 GLE with 49K (w/ paint chips and a few dings) and bought a 2003 I35 for $27,500 ($900 below invoice) plus tax and title.
The I35 is definitely pretty nice, but I got the chance to finally sit in the G35 4 door 6MT and all I have to say is that is DEFINITELY my next car. The shifing is amazing. Also, I am not even remotely impressed with the interior of the Z. I felt like I was in a Saturn because everything was so chinsy.
Anyhow, to stay on topic, I thought I would let all of you know that $12,200 is what we got in trade. I would have sold it privately for him, but he didn't want to have to deal with the hassle.

how can yuo tell the G shifts nice by just sitting in it, dont you have to drive it?
It took me over two months to get rid of my loaded SE with the same mileage, and even then, I only got $14,200 for it. $12,200 is with some decent front and rear bumper damage (garage door) and paint chips all over the hood. If I sold it privately, I would have gotten $13,500-$14,000 at the most. I thought about it, but not worth the PITA in this case. Out of sight, out of mind.
You can tell MAJOR differences between the G35 6 speed and the 2002 Max 6 speed just by pushing the clutch and running the gears with the car off. Plus the throws are about half the distance as the Max. The interior is solid and the pop up navigation system is surreal.

No chromies, no side sills, no spoiler, no heated seats, nada. Just the moonfoor package and splash guards. It's for my pops- he isn't really into all that. There won't be any pics because the car is going to remain bone stock.
Anywho...... if anyone locally needs a Nissan hookup, I have a good one.
