Straight Pipe vs. RT Cat

Can someone tell me any major differences between the two, better or worse? I'm trying to decide on one or the other to complement my soon-to-be-purchased y and b pipes... thanks

The RT cat will give you no performance gains over the stock one. Buy it to replace a failed stock unit only.

RT = Garbage... You'll get better gains through a test pipe. You'r car will breathe a lil better up-top.

i HIGHLY recommend that you ride in a car w/o a cat b4 you make a purchase.....ur going to loose ALOT of low end power....if this is your daily driver...i say dont..i didn't like it...its REALLY LOUD..and torqueless at lowend....if your gonna race around everday...be in the 3500+ RPM range most of the time ur in the car...GO FOR IT....dont do it to a daily driver unless you have BOOST...

if there's such a great low end power-loss with the straight pipe, is it even worth getting the y-pipe and b-pipe while keeping the stock cat?

Sure... dynos are stupid and worthless.

AzNx2k2xSEXima's butt dyno Own3s all.

Yes I have a straight pipe AND two hollow precats. Did I lose any bottom end? No.

I bet you have a 5" fartpipe exhaust on your car and thats why you lost all your torque when you put on the straight pipe.

if you open up your exhaust too much then yes... you will
you need to have enough air draw into the engine
dont believe me ?
take your y-pipe off and start your car

I dont believe the test pipe will hurt your car as long as you stick with 2 1/4 ... 2 1/2 and you will need NOS or forced induction

NOooOOoOOoO....i just routed the exhaust through a 3 inch pip out to the side... its only a 3".... the no muffler might have been a problem... o well....im just telling u guys wat i thought of it...(going up a 2 mile hill w/ 5 waterpolo guys) i didn't like it... maybe i thought it was torqueless cuz of the obnoxious sound and the whole cabin rattling

U should def. get all the bolt ons for the straight pipe to do it's job. When I bought straight pipe from CustomMaxima it says the straight pipe has resonator built in but after I got it on my car, first couple days it sounded the way I wanted it but after that it sounded like some sort of empty can trembling......and I know for sure it's coming from the straight pipe, cuz I thought I had some leaks in the piping but nope, there was no leak. I asked PcGuru2k1(danny) and he told me I should expect mah car to sound real ricey.....
