TSB / Warrenty question

HI all, i've been a long-time fan of the maxima, and have finally been able to purchase a 2001 GXE. Unfortunatly, the check engine light has come on, so I'm hoping to take it into a nissan dealer since its still under the 3 year/36,000 mile warrenty ( I think it transferrs with the car when I buy it from a previous owner, 24k miles on the car at the moment). My question to the more experianced owners is this:

If I take the maxima into the dealership, and list some of the TSB's that I've found for the 2001's that have happened to mine, such as

00-056B NOV 02 A/T - Mandatory Oil Cooler Cleaning
00-090 NOV 00 Trunk Finisher - Popped Out of Place
01-018 MAR 01 Engine - ON/OFF Throttle Sensitivity At Low Speeds
01-054 AUG 01 Window Glass (Front Door) - Squeak/Squeal Noise

will they fix this also, free of charge? I'm just trying to get a good understanding of the TSB's and thier useage in regards to cars still under warrenty. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Jeff Hampton

Bump, I've looked in the FAQ section on this and havent really seen anything regarding how I should use the TSB information thats on there. Is it something that I can give to the dealer and tell them that I have experianced this, so they would fix it under warrenty?

It depends on the dealer. Some you can approach directly and say 'I want xyz TSB done' and they'll do it, others HAVE to find the problems themselves and then maybe apply the TSB. It varies greatly. But yes, TSB work is covered under your warranty.

Basically a good thing to do would be to print out a copy of the TSB and bring it along, explain the problem(s) then mention/show the TSB to them. If they refuse or are jerks about it, call Nissan North America/find another dealer.

yeah.. technically they're supposed to fix all the TSBs under warranty, but there are a lot of dealers out there who will give u a hard time about it.... varies from dealer to dealer...
if one won't do it.. take ur car to a different one..

and congrats on ur purchase...
