well, i went to sears today to get the parts i needed. i picked up a 2 1/2' shop-vac extension hose, and a 3'x 2 1/2' coupler. it took me about 15 minutes to do it. just follwed the easy directions that were on here. then i took it for a spin. definitely a good difference over stock. and the good thing is you cant hardly hear it at all. it cost me about $15, pretty good bang for my buck. now the thing that i noticed is that it has a lot more low end power over stock. anyone else notice this?

I went shopping today and went with your setup. I couldn't find any decent tubing. There was a ton of PVC, but I didn't think I could get it to fit right.

So I bought a Shop Vac 6 foot hose x 2.5 inch. and a 3 inch to 2 inch coupler. The 2 inch section is a tight fit, but it works great. I even bought an adapter which acts like a air scoop (some type of wand accessory). When I get a chance today I should have my SVCAI installed.

I'll take pictures.

Yeah.. a little windy, but nice. I've never been so productive on a Saturday. Did stuff for a HOA, home, and got to my car later in the day. Washed and waxed my car and installed the custom intake.

Re: hey paul

Which end? I haven't noticed anything just yet, but I've only had it on for a few hours.

My adapter is 3 -> 2 inches. Isn't your's 3 -> 2 1/2? Maybe that makes it stay. I'll check it out tomorrow to see if it's sliding down.

Actually, even without taking the scoop out, the sleeve attaching it to the intake box is a bit loose. I guess you can try clamping it down or sealing it with silicone or something to get a tight seal.

Mine's a little loose too. It stays closed enough though.

Which way to point the scoop?

Maxman2k... which direction did you point your intake? I have mine under/near the silencer box towards the driver fender. I'm thinking of shortening my tube to make it come out before the silencer. Another option is to point it down through the middle beyond the splash guard. 2 bad things about this... more opportunity to suck up bad stuff and it's closer to the warmth of the engine.
