'04 SE Automatic 1/4 times quote:

Took the car to the track tonight

Ran it twice, felt like it wasn't going to get any faster so I gave up.

1st Run
R/T .188
60' 2.483
330 6.575
1/8 9.932
MPH 72.37
1000 12.831
1/4 15.276
MPH 92.30

2nd Run
R/T .230
60' 2.314
330 6.464
1/8 9.844
MPH 71.77
1000 .000
1/4 15.219
MPH 92.05

That pretty much tells all. I took spare & jack out, along with air filter, and lowered the front tires till they were just a little bit saggy. Avoided the water, just gassed it and spun a little bit for the burnout, staged and tried to get a good jump on the 3rd yellow light. 1st run kind was of spinning, but the 2nd I got a good jump and it didn't spin. 1st run was against a yellow S-10 extended cab, 2nd run was a girl driving a 96 or so Red Camaro SS. She ran a 14.115@99.74mph to my 15.219 but I got her pretty bad off the line, she caught me right at the 1/8.

Will have pics of timeslips posted tomorrow...

Yes, why is this post in here? It doesn't matter, the 2003 Maxima is a heavy car, heavier then the 2001 through 2003. Even though it has 265 HP, the 255 HP maximas blow it away. Dealer told me that the 04's are to heavy. I raced one the other day here in New Jersey on Rt 18, pulled off an exit ramp from Interstate 195, he looked behind him wondering what kind of car I had becasue I have the Trenz Polished Grille on my 2003 Max 6 speed. He gunned it, I pulled into the right lane downshifted into 3rd and well before I knew it I was gaining and within 4th gear had passed him. Bet you he was bumming!!!!

ok u guys on the 5th gen board arent that cool, im sorry flame me if u want but, i just i figured u guys would like to know.. they are both maximas... and as far as i can see, the 03 runs 14.9 to 15.1 BONE stock... most of the 14.8s and 14.7s i see for 02 and 03s alteast have a filter on it or something... with the exception of a few.. so if u guys want to delete the post that would be ok.. and the track conditions where bad they guy is in florida the temp was 90 degrees and 95% humidity bad racing weather... so i think the car is capable of the same as an 02 or 03.. sorry guys im not being a **** but u guys dont appreciate anything...

Hey, wasn't trying to crack on you or the 2004 maxima. Just I will admit, I couldn't afford one, I did want it and I still think its hot as hello. Especially a black one tinted out, thats a hot ride. The only reason I said the 03 is faster is becasue when i went to the Nissan dealer the other day, I played with the salesman and wanted to see how low he could go on the 04 Max SE. I took it for a test drive and it felt heavy but then again, they do have a nicer suspension on them. So just wantedf to let you know I was just busting your chops and thats all, just harmless fun. Good luck with your 04!!!

Slow down bubba. It is not that we don't appreciate anything, etc., etc., etc. If we wanted timeslips, etc. on a 6th Gen, we know where to find them...the 6th Gen Forum, or more appropriately the Timeslip Forum. In either case you are still in the wrong place. Not a flame or anything, just a simple statement of fact.

We are cool people unlike some your brethren over in the 6th gen room I want name names. I'm one of the 03's that runs 14's all stock on a good day an 04 SE might be able to do that butjudging by your times I doubt an 04 SL will be able to get close. This brings another thing into play how much more effecient is the 5 spd auto than the 4spd auto in the Max, I know that their are alot of variables into play. Like your extra weight, more torque/horsepower and our cars being lighter having less power and torque with a 4spd auto.

dude i dont know where you got your info but most of the guys in here with 03 cars are getting close to 14 flat bone stock.....anywhere from 14.1(myself included) to 14.3 half the 03 owners...if an 02 03 is running 14.7 and 14.8 like you said its because its towing a slow azz 04 behind it......lol

Was it left in drive or was he shifting manually? If so what rpm was he shifting at?

Improve the 60ft a little bit, run on a cooler day at it is a 14 second car easily.

Why won't you post those time slips on the 1/8-1/4 forum?

I dont think many people post their because most people do not read those forums, they tend to read the Generation forums moreso.

I hear you but the ones who have bothered to post there don't turn in the kind of times that I always see mentioned in the gen forums. Just curious why that is. I assumed that if your time was 14.1 ish in a bone STOCK gen 5 you would be posting it there since you would be the hands down fastest STOCK Maxima of all time.

as far as a time slip what does a slip prove for one?a slip can be anybodies that was at the track at night.....i did post one when i first bought the car a year ago..nobody reads the time slip forums why waste my time..i prefer the method of doing it infront of people....and my car did bust a 14.23 bone stock with a sub box with 2 12's my spare tire and 3/4 tank of 93 octane gas in rocking ham nc....jb whitley drove it to that time....and about 25 other guys from the org were there including fbodykosherdill , blubyu2k2 , well **** the whole nc crew was there......then 3 weeks later i went to dinwiddie with uncdood another org member left the sub box at home and the spare tire and busted a 14.12.....oh yea and ive seen others faster........anyway like i said before timeslips dont mean anything, they could belong to anyone pal....why post em?

Excellent point. So I wonder, why have a 1/8-1/4 forum any way?
I had no idea they were so fast in bone stock trim. I guess you're solid in the 13s now that you have your cat back system, ur udp, carbon fiber, injen intake etc... That's Cobra country, at least 2k1 Cobra... That is impressive, I am humbled in your presence.

What I do not understand is why 6th gen owners keep tryin' to sell
their Max's on a 5th gen forum-WTF! We all know they are 15 sec cars-
high 14's on a good day-
But they keep insisting they're max's are "just as fast"-
So owning a 2k2 6-speed 3.5, I'm qualified to diagnose 6th Gen owners with "Short Man Complex" !

It is a puzzle why this thread was started in the first place. I'm not sure if the one who started the thread owns a g5 or g6 or what. But the one who started it isn't the one who took his '04 to the track.

And you're right, you would never ever see a g5 guy stirring up krap on the g6 forum. Too bad the g6 guys don't show the same respect for the g5 forum.
