Availability of New 2003 Max's?
For those who sell or work at Nissan dealerships, do you know how long 5th gens will be available for sale? I'm almost done paying for my '99 SE-L and want to scoop up a 5th gen before they're gone for good.

I was looking for one back in May/June. That's when Nissan had the initiative to get rid of them all to make room for the 04's. The were only a few left at that time but forget about it now. Your best bet is a used one with low miles.

no such thing
I spent about the entire month of June looking for new '03.
As everyone else says, they did not exist then and do not now.
I ended up buying a 2k2 6 speed (had to be a manual) from an exotic car dealer in Ohio. They took it on trade for a Beemer; it was super clean with 18K on it. (Check out www.toybarncars.com to check their inventory; they actually had two 6 speeds within a week come in on trade).
A strong warning: Be careful of 2k3s with 20k miles or more. I had salesmen throwing them at me, and I even took two 300-mile trips to check them out. They were rentals with hard miles on them, having been bought at the Chicago auction. Check Carfax to see if they were an "A" title (private party sales) or titled for fleet use. If it's the latter, than buyer beware.

check out quirkcars.com and call the nissan dealership. I bought my 2003 SE about six weeks ago, and they had quite a few left. They are a huge discount dealer, I got mine for 5200 off list. They are located on Bostons south shore.

I suppose you are not far from DC. There is a 2003 SE auto, sunroof, BOSE, merlot color on the lot of the Heritage Nissan in Westminster, MD. It was there last weekend. The phone # to that dealership is 410-876-1540. It is about 65 miles from DC.

I found one less than 100 miles from here by using the nissan dealership search:

I live in the 27713 zip code, so maybe you can find it this way. This is how I found mine back in May....there were quite a few then.

Not saying these cars do not exist.... the US is a big place.
But I'll be shocked if you do. In fact, I'll buy you lunch to eat in your brand new '03.
My dealer buddy searched all inventory back in June and found nada. Now, he may have been lying in an attempt to sell me an '04, but I'm just telling you my experience.
BTW, I checked that QuirkCars.com site in Denver, and found only '04s.

Thanks for all the info...I didn't realize they were going so fast. Actually, I saw three 2003's at a Nissan dealership in Arlington, VA (Brown's) last week (one SE was going for $23k sticker, new!); that got me to wondering about it.
Hell, I'm gonna have to go back there and grab it!
