even if its a desperation sale at 12500 i doubt they will be stupid enough to go under 12k. those retail for about 17000$. and then depends how much you talk them down from there. for me its too good to be true.

Im looking at a 2000 SE 5-speed loaded with everything from leather heated seats to climate control. The dealer will only go to 15500. I went to my local nissan dealer here in MA and asked about the price of a 2000 SE, they this is their email they sent me. "I have some SEs but they are more in the 17500-19000 range, for a two
thousand with 40000 miles. I have a beautiful GXE with a spoiler and alloy wheels so it's just like an SE with 59000 miles for 15000 however, would you come take a look at that? call john clark for an appointment.

Sincerely,"

There are a few scratches and the rear brakes are going, but they are going to fix them. So i think im gonna go for the 15500... so id say 12500 is great!!!

Yeah for some reason the 00/01's seem to be holding their value better than the 02's, maybe because the 02's are still taking the big drops in initial depreciation.

Even 15,500 sounds high. I payed a little over 18,000 for my 02 with leather, meridian pkg and 24,000 miles.

Believe it or not thats not high for an 00 SE, i see personal sellers selling them for much more than that and dealers well you know. It is the 02's that are selling fo rthe low prices maybe because Nissan decided to sell 20,000 of the 80 something thousand of them made to rental companies.

Do not fall for their tricks. You don't pay whatever they ask for, do you?

Yes damn good article!

My 2003 se with 12500 miles on it had a sticked on the winshield for 25,545. lol. That is the price of a new one!
It was in the auto trader for 22,500 and then in the Arizona Republic
for 20,888
I went down there and after a while got them to give me 1000 more wholesale and ~250 for then KBB says what I would expect to pay if I bought it, which was ~4000. So while (for # reasons on there end I guess) they did not budge on the price of the car. They did on my trade a little bit, but at 20,888 it was still cheaper then the other dealerships and individuals were asking for a comperable car.
I want in knowing the game and my #'s. the best interest rate I could get on my car through banks, ect., was ~5 percent but after screwing with the F&I guy for a while I got 2.9 percent and got warrenty for near ~300, down from the 9xx.xx they were asking.
Managed to get the F&I guy fired too. I went in after I let him screw me on a few things and they pulled the video tapes. (yes I know) He had LIED on many occassions. Got 600 dollars towards paid to the bank for my can and got the $50 deductable dropped for free. saving another ~1000 in the back end.

By the way, my old car had:
1. Engine leaks in 5 diff. spots for a staggering $4000 repair I saved
2. Bad shocks.
3. Took my stereo out of it after they valued it. it was a 1 year old 1500 system, do you blame me?
4. Bad power stearing fluid line.
5. Tint starting to peal in a couple spots.
6. 3 cig burn marks.
7. Passenger side window would not go up if it was more then 90 degrees outside.
8. ~100,000 miles.
9. Big tear on the drive seat that was sewn up but staring to come unraveled.

I think I did good also seeing the money I will save in gas over 5 years. From 15 in the old, to 24 in the new .

20,888
-4000 for the trade
-4000+ in engine repairs
-300 in shocks
-1500 stereo I now dont have to rebuy. I think they are mad at me for that
-~3000 in fuel savings
-----------

= $8,088
for my car

I know I over analyze

I just bought my 2000 SE - leather, heated seats the whole nine yards.. 11k miles on it I knew the guy so he gave it to me for $15,500. That too me seems like a great deal - it should've been worth more, in my opinion.

I don't care WHO they sold them to - a better deal on a two year newer car with a bigger engine, HID headlights, a trip computer, and nicer looking (IMHO) wheels and taillights is fine with me!
