i have had my car for a year and a half now and i found something new on it today. this may sound dumb, but i dont care....i was cleaning out the center console where the adjustable armrest is and i saw the little slots to feed a phone cord thru so you can have your phone plugged in the rear jack and have it concealed in the armrest. pretty cool. the slot is right next to the drivers seat so i never noticed it before. im sure you all have seen this before, right?

I'm going to sound even dumber, because I heard this before and I looked for it, and couldn't find any slots... it looks totally sealed inside the armrest. Is there a way anyone can explain in more detail what to look for?
My only thought is, it's not really concealed because if anyone wants to see if you have a phone, they can see something is plugged in by looking in the back, and deduce you have a phone.

On this topic, is anyone concerned about kids sticking their fingers in this outlet in the back?

Get in the back seat behind the driver seat. Look at the side of the center arm rest. Compare it to the other side. You will see a notch or groove. I saw it, but haven't investigated as to how it is used.

If you guys took pics of everything when you bought the car like I did you'd notice the notch
Here's a pic:
You can use the top or bottom compartment to let a cord run out of the center console and stil be able to close it all the way.

Sorry to Bring up this old post, but I still don't have rights to post new threads yet. My rear power outlet is no longer working, it worked before but not now. I checked the fuse and it's not blown "open" what else could be causing this failure? any help would be great! -Thank

Holy Mother of GOD its 6 years old.

Not to mention you could ask in the NEWB thread...

anything could cause it to fail, loose wire, bad connectors, the unit went bad.

Sooner will be a long shortly to finish this...

You might get more replies in the 5th gen "Newbie Thread" but do you have a multimeter, have you tested to see if you're getting voltage? Maybe the wires got jiggled loose.

Have you also tried different things, say one for an iPod and one for a cell phone). The cig lighter adapters usually have a fuse inside of them, maybe you blew one and now that one doesn't work. Try a different adapter for a different device, see if that yields anything.

Also, did you check EVERY fuse, not sure which one goes for the rear cig lighter. I've found weird things going to weird fuses in my max.

Here's the noobie thread:
