Extended warranty and TSB.

I'm considering taking my Max(2k1 gxe) in for the hesitation TSB fix. The car is out of factory warranty, but is covered by 100k miles bumber to bumper extended warranty. If the service department does acknowledge that the TSB applies to my car, what are the chances of the extended warranty picking up the tab?

Thanks

Depending on your coverage the warr will cover the part the labor to install the part and probably the intial diag fee usually 1hr. I had a maf and o2 sens replaced and all was covered but the dedct and a little extra diag time because my failed part did not throw a code. Hope this helps. Peace

A Technical Service Bulletin is just that, it tells the tech how to diagnose and service the problem. If the TSB doesn't state that it is covered and your dealer wants to charge you, then expect to pay. If the hesitation TSB (I haven't read it) sounds like the tech needs to get his hands dirty, chances are you'll need to $$$$, unless the service folk are nice...

Well, that is my point. I don't really expect the dealership to do the work at no charge, I'm wondering if work performed under the TSB is considered a regular repair whilch chould be covered by the extended warranty.

That depends on the TSB, for the most part, i think TSB work, unless it is severe, is regular repair...take for instance the warped rotor TSB. It states the it is coevered up to 36k miles. so after that if you want the work done, it will be regular repair. The TSB just tells the tech how to diagnse and repair the problem, its like a tech's Maxima textbook. Recall or warranty work is free for you, but not for Nissan. TSB work is not neccessarily always free...

Took the car in today, they test drove it and were able to duplicate the problem. I was told this is covered under my extended warranty, and I should have the car back tomorrow. I must say, it was a pleasant suprise, especially since they haven't even frowned at the PR CAI.
