Q to anyone who bought just a Frankencar midpipe

I want to know that if I buy just the Frankencar midpipe, would I only be missing the filter? I should get all the hardware and adapters needed to fit on my own filter right?

No,I think you still need a filter adapter for your own filter.Or unless your own filter come with one.

Even if my own filter is the same apexi one that they would send me if I ordered it from them? I heard that Frankencar has problems shipping out the apexi filter in timely manner so I found my own source for 'em.

Damnit! Of course, I forgot about the MAF adapter... and they don't sell that adapter either. I was hoping to bypass all the waiting and just get an apexi filter myself and have a whole intake soon.

Why don't you just e-mail them and ask them if you can buy their intake minus the filter. See if they'll take a little off their regular price since you're not getting a filter.

you use the maf adapter off the old box, no need to order a new one.

No, you use the maf off the stock box, but you need the adapter to bolt on the intake.

So does it go like this:
I. Manifold->somethingy->midpipe->MAF adapter->filter?

and the MAF adapter part is the only thing missing in the midpipe package but somebody is saying that I can use the stock one on my airbox?

Things in bold you need.
Rubber coupler and clamps-- midpipe-- Rubber coupler and clamps-- MAF sensor housing --MAF adapter-- filter

You need to buy the entire kit. There is no way around it.

You can buy just the pipe from Frank. For $55 you get the pipe couplers and clamps. At least that what I got when I bought mine last year as I already had a $tillen. I just tried to check but the their site is down now.

Even If all you got was the pipe, the couplers and clamps are easily bought at an auto parts store. Also I got an adapter after the fact from Frank, it cost me like $30, I found it's diameter is more matched to the 3.0 MAF and that is considerably smaller than the 3.5's. I now have a Firm with a $tillen pop attached, that's why I needed the adapter. I found an adapter at AutoZone that is almost a perfect match to the 3.5's MAF and Firm tube diameter of 70mm. I just needed to enlarge the holes for the bolts and it works great. It only cost $15

If you buy a Firm you can use their filter or any other that you want, there is no need for an adapter unless you are going to use a $tillen/Jet pop charger.

we have apexi filters in stock now. the reason for the backorder was from apexi directly, they just weren't shipping any filters over to the states for 8+ weeks while we suffered. If you get the midpipe you would need the maf adapter and the apexi filter installation kit. we do sell those seperately if needed but we have apexi's in stock NOW.

dmbmaxima2k2, Any possibilities on a group deal. I think that if you can convince people that you can ship on time there should be people interested... such as myself.

Hey Steve, I emailed you a couple of times regarding the bracket on the strut tower. I really need it because the intake keeps rattling.
