Look at it closely, there's a notch on the sides where you can pull the top-portion off. Once this is pulled out enough, the rest of the plastic clip will just fall off.

To re-install, make sure the top is all the way out again - insert the clip and push on the top to lock it in place.

Note: DO NOT, pull the whole clip as a whole using just the handle/hooks - you will break the clips that way.

ok im preety sure i understand what ur saying...when i was looking at it, it seemd like there is a little notch where u can inster a small screwdriver and pop it up.....i know what ur saying now.

next question.....for anyone that is...

this car is almost a year old. i know the tail light is gonna be a ***** to remove since it has that black gooey crap on it. i was thinking about heading it up from the inside to get it soft and pull the tail light out. is this a good idea?

Honestly I dont think heating it up will make a difference...That stuff is there to keep out water and such, most likely that will just make it more of a mess b/c it will just ooze around...Good luck

jush push man
i'm serious
there are 3 screws also holding in the taillight, so don't forget those. but yeha, just push it hard and slowly it will begin to give way, if you see that goeey stuff start to spread, then cut it wit a knife. there'e a lot there, so cutting some off aint' an issue. keep on pushing and it will eventually come off. good luck.
