$26,900 for a Maxima that is almost 2 yrs old? I don't think so. Mods do not boost a car's value, actually they downgrade it. I rather go buy a new 2001

That is what the dealer tells you to practically take the car from you, but they always know that when they take your car from you they can raise the price substantially higher than what they gave you for it because they know that there is some people out there who like that stuff! Trust me. Besides if that is true, try going to dealer and tell them that their new car has depreciated b/c they have added floor mats, leather seats, moon roof visor, wing and fog lights chrome factor wheels. Why does the price of their car go up when they add things that are not from the factory and when we do the same the price does not add value or it depreciates the value? You figure that one out!

True, but there is a difference. Your car is 2 yrs old, there's is new. Sell yours for what its worth RETAIL. And if you have worked at dealer is there are any aftermarket items on the car, exhauist, intakes, cosmetic stuff inside or out exception of wheels, the dealers have to put the stock stuff back on themselves. MOST people do not like that stuff, only a few. So its easier for them to sell the car without mods than with.

But good luck selling it for the price your asking, you won't get it.

Think about it the retail price for a 2000 max fully loaded is still 22k - 24k. Who wouldn't pay 2k more for 10k worth of upgrades? It is simple math for those who like those particular mods!

I think the right person is going to be hard to find, but there is someone out there who would pay 22k for a car that's got all the mods they want on it already. I don't know about 26k though... but that's why God invented haggling.

And a new 2k1 Maxima loaded 5spd is 26k, so why not just get a new one?

I think you'll get it...

I think you could get that price. Those rims alone are 19" momo's M1s and very expensive. Yea you won't get that price from some grandma that just wants a nice driving car. But for someone wanting to get into 19" rims and the extras, you might just get it. Just keep on posting and don't worry about the people who say it's not worth it, let them by a new 2001 maxima stock for around the same price. Good luck .... Nice car by the way.

Tom 2K GXE no longer I30.....

Your car looks so nice, and unless you have a 300lb addition to you family, keep the Maxima. You are falling prey to the Dealer "20th AE Maxima Theory", in which only a true enthusiast would be financially foolish enugh to shell out the extra money for this car. The average consumer could care less.

Nah! Don't want the 20AE Max. The kit is ugly and I'd rather do the other mods myself. I am shying away from the max right now. I have owned the 3rd,4th,and 5th generation Maximas. I want to modify some sort of wagon(Mercedes) or suv(ML430) or maybe even a herse!

did i miss it?

did u put down how many miles you had on the car? or did i just miss it, mileage is an important factor when selling your car. thanks, also, only factory upgrades usually add value to a car when u sell to a dealer, because the buyers usually want genuine nissan parts, when my friend tried to sell his accord back to the dealer with GREDDY exhaust and EIBACH springs and his KIT, the dealer actually lowered the price on his car. reason? they believe nothing is as good as genuine OEM nissan parts. his greddy exhaust which would be worth about $500 or more to his, is worth actually less than the STOCK nissan exhaust which i wouldn't pay more than $50 for. thats jus the way it goes, they have to take ur parts off and fit them with the OEM ones. and some of the people that buy the car will like some features and not others, i say keep all you upgrades and sell the car stock, and sell the other parts separately, you will definitely get more for the car. I got my 2001 SE with everything but leather and bose for a lil bit more than $24K.

PS. those are some PIMP lookin rims tho, i'd get those =)
