Brake Squeal

Brake Squeal?
Quick question...I'm getting a brake squeal that sounds like a squeal plate hitting the rotor, but my pads are nowhere near low enough to need replacement...only had them on for eight months and 5,000 miles. No cracks in the x-drilled rotors. They are the Stillen Metal pads. Same squeal as low pads...no sqeal with no pressure, squeal with medium pressure, and no squeal with brakes to the floor.
Thoughts? I haven't taken the wheels off and looked close yet.

Easy fix.. Who ever put your new brake pads on did not or didnt use enough silicon anti-squeak gell. (it comes with most new pads and you put it on where the calaper piston meats the break pad.) What is going on is that your brake pads are free floating a little bit and as they move (when your not using your brake) the pads are moving up and down just a little bit and that metal to metal sound is the piston rubbing on the back of the pad (makeing the noise you are hearing) its not hurting anything but sounds like sh*t. Of course when you put on the brake hard they cant move from the pressure and wont sqeek.
Hope the info helps..

go to your local parts store, tell them you want the silicon stuff you put on your brake to stop it from sqeaking. Why your there go ahead and let them show you how to use it. It works, Ive done my own bake work now for over 10years and never once had a squek in my brakes.

Thanks...
linuxr...I installed my own brake pads...OOPS...I've never had this result before, maybe I just lost it during the install and forgot to grease up one of the pads. I guess I have an excuse to put on the SS Brake Lines that have been sitting in my garage...gotta go put some more goo on.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.
