Just installed Factory GLE leather seats and door panels in my 2KGXE!!!!!!!!
I just got done installing the leather seats and door panels that came off a totaled 2k GLE. It also came with the GLE Wood trim and middle wood trim automatic shifter piece. The new cars are so easy to install anything on them. There's two screws on the front doors and one on the back and eveything just pops out with ease. The interior looks so sweet with tan leather compared to the GXE cloth. Now it's on to lowering and wheels and then the stillen kit. If anyone has any questions on installing the seats and pannels and middle shifter piece, let me know.
I got the seats and door panels for $700 and I bought the middle plastic wood piece around the shifter for $30. I also bought the leather steering wheel for $70. I only took about 2 1/2 hours to install the leather seats and door panels as well as the center molding. It sure does look like night and day. I was going to buy the seat covers from leathers.com but I wanted the real thing from a totaled 2k GLE or SE. Not that hard to install at all. Shipping wasn't that bad either.
To answer your question Skymaxjr. I think you can get heated seats. This one didn't have the heated seat option. But I think I saw an extra wiring harness for them. An extra bonus was that the GXE max does come with all the wiring for the passenger seat. My GXE had a manual passenger seat and now it's automatic. The passenger seat was pre-wired for upgrades. So I'm sure you could get the heated seats. It probably just takes the switches, wiring and fuse.
I have a heated seat switch from David Burnette. I have two empty plugs in the center console when I took my center console out. I'm going to plug it in and see what happens. Also, David Burnette tells me there is a harness behind the glove box which may be required as well. This all came to light last week.

Hurry up with those pics I wanna see.

I really can't post a pic right now, because I don't own a digital camera. It looks exactly the same as any 2k maxima with tan leather seats. It's really nice and clean looking. I really love the plastic wood trim. I really don't care that it's no real wood. I'm sure there are alot of 2k maximas that have been salvaged with leather seats. Really easy to install. Oh and there is an actual extra wiring harness for heated seats.

Where can you get door panels and leather seats?
I got my stuff off of the parts for sale Items listed in the org. It was pure luck on my part to find tan interior leather seats. But there is another way and maybe cheaper also if you go to copartfinder.com. It will list all of the junk yards in your area that have a 2k max and it also shows pictures of the maximas. If your patient, you'll find them there. Remember I paid $700 for mine. I would say don't spend more than $800. And there really easy to install. Good luck...

I'm curious if the heating elements are there in all Max's and you just have buy the switches and wiring harnesses to get it operational.
Thx!

What about the rear seat? Was that included too? Did door inserts for the rear doors come with all of this? That is such a good idea!

Everything was included. I even got the wood trim that came in the GLE. The car looks like night and day on the inside. Very easy install. 2k Maxes get wrecked all the time, you might be able to get it cheaper than what I paid for. Good luck and if you have any questions, let me know..

Leather...
I like leather a lot more than vinyl or cloth. However, my parents have an old Volvo with leather which was not taken care of properly, and now it's cracked, dry, and SO ugly. Even the best leather cleaner or conditioner cannot restore it. To prevent this from happening you should clean it at least once a month. Apply the Lexol Leather Cleaner, and work the solution into a nice lather. If your leather is heavily soiled, use an upholstery When finished be sure to remove all soap from the surface with a damp towel. Rinse and wipe several times, then dry the leather with a fresh, dry towel. By the way, water will not hurt your leather. Most leather is actually made (tanned) in water. There are two cleaning factors that cause leather to wear. The first is dirt and the second is oil from your skin. The oil from your skin is actually the most damaging to your leather. This is particularly true if you wear shorts or a tank top, and have recently applied lotion or sun screen to your skin. Take this into consideration, also, in determining your cleaning schedule.
To condition leather, apply the leather conditioner of your choice on one section at a time using a soft a foam wax applicator. Work the conditioner in thoroughly. Allow the conditioner to sit (soak in) for a few minutes, then buff off the excess with a dry terry cloth towel. It’s important to buff off the excess. If you allow the excess to stay, your seats will be slippery. After a few minutes of soak time, your leather has taken in all the moisture it can. The remainder will simply evaporate, leaving that milky cloud on the inside of your windows.
For caring leather I reccomend the following products:
CLEAN: Lexol Leather Cleaner
CONDITION: Eagle One Leather Conditioner which is a great value that is one of the only condtitioners to have UV protection. Conolly Hide Food is superior if your budget is not limited.
