Drop Resistor Mod: Harmful??
it will throw an SES. let the tranny warm up and then try driving under light throttle - it really bangs into 2nd gear. But the only way to avoid throwing the SES is to leave it plugged in, or maybe wire in a switch so you can "turn on" the hard shifting temorariliy. I only get codes when I start my car for a 2nd time, so maybe if you make sure everything is plugged in before you shut the car down, you'll avoid the code
Drop Resistor and SES light
After unplugging the drop resistor and driving the car (shifts were great!) for about 10 minutes I concluded that I wan't this option. Plugged the resistor back in before starting engine this morning and noticed the O/D light flashing for about 10 secs and then turn off, and no SES light!. This evening I again tried disconnecting the drop resistor and taking it out on the highway, shifts were a little faster, expecially 1-2, other thing I noticed is the SES light came on! Will it go off after a few days or do I have to do an ECU reset!? That damn light is very distracting!

u will have to reset the ecu... don't think it will go away on its own... some how i have managed not to get SES light... i have unpluged it 4 times now and ran the car for anywhere from 10 min to 1 hour each time..... i guess i'm lucky...
