Does anyone know if I30 have the same automatic transmission problem as the Maxima? If not, is it the price you pay for paying less?

I'm not exactly answering your question but the engine and transmission are identical in the Max and I30. Not sure if the TCM is programmed the same or not. I haven't read anything on this board about anyone having trouble with the I30's auto. The main difference that I know of is the exhaust is slightly different in the I30 (and AE Max) to give it the 5 more hp.

The TCM issue is the same, I had mine replaced last summer, problem is gone, shifts are fine.

Stay cool,
