All of you saying its illegal, please go ahead and read the laws and look at the new Lexus RX330. All the law states is that something from the rear of the car has to reflect red, which is why on the bumper of the RX they have 2 red reflectors, we could do the same...

If you notice the taillights, you can see a slight red tint to it.

 

so is it legal or not legal to have clear tail lights? that's so confusing....plus now these..red tags...damn....so wuts the virdict...legal or not?

 

And lets not bring back the debate of the reflectors here!!

and do you really want to put a reflector on your bumper??

 

I say legal so long as you have a red reflector on the side and rear of the vehicle.

 

I'll take red in my taillights over ugly red reflectors wrapped around the sides of my rear bumper any day.

It's the bulbs dude. I've seen the vehicle up close and in person. They are entirely clear...

I was agreeing with you, BTW But the new RX's tails are clear. I'll go snap some pics when I get home and post them up...

 

yes they are clear. what makes them legal is the big ugly red reflectors in the bumper.
if people want to make their car look "nicer" with all clear tailights they will have to put reflectors on which takes away from the "nice" they are going for

 

Um ther're clear cuz they use red leds. High output if I remember right. Unless they have that clear max lights with the red leds I seriously doubt they pass as legal here in hawaii.

something on the back of the car MUST REFLECT RED, be it the tail lights like most cars or reflectors on the bumper

No need to argue with the cop manny, you can print out the statute and keep it in your car if you're going to be that paranoid...
