Driveline Slop - Is this normal?

I've noticed a fair amount of play in the driveline of my '03 6-speed. Had an '01 5-speed and I don't remember anything like this. The shifter moves a good 1/2 inch fore and aft when I engage/disengage the clutch. Am I just imagining that this didn't happen in the '01? I know some movement is expected, but this much just seems abnormal. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Dan

The driveline strikes again. I have driven both and the 2k-2k1 tranny feels better, not as sloppy
