Fuel gauge on or off, after ignition turnoff?

Hey guys, just wondering, do all the 5th gener. max's fuel guage turn off (return to "E") when ignition is turned off....or do certain ones stay in the same position when car is off. Just asking, because I had seen some rides on member's pages with their cluster reading the amount of fuel left in the tank with the ignition being off. On my 2K SE, mine turns off (returns to the "E" position) after I turn off the car, and returns to the previous position after startup. Does anybody else's do this, or I am I just seeing things? I know the 4th gener's remained in the same position depending on the amount of fuel left.

the all drop to E. They probably turned the key to ON so we could see lights or something.

Yeah, I thought so too...but I didn't see any "dummy" lights lit up on the dash. Hmmmm....

Yeah, what's up with that!? Maybe it's a "cluster" thing (SE vs. GXE/GLE). Here is a pic of my cluster with the ignition off...

Does the fuel gauge come up when the key is in acc. (one click before on) mode? The dummy lights should come when the key is in that position.
