well i was wondering if there is a program out there where i can do it to my computer and use it as a nav system?? is this possible or not?

not sure of a program but in any case you will need a gps receiver that can work with a computer. just about any receiver that is advertised 'computer ready' or such should come with the software, or have the option to get the kit from the company.

 

Garmin makes the reciever and software. Comes together in a package and sells for about $150.

 

Sony makes one too you can use with a laptop.
