ECU Reset after MAF replacement?

I just replaced the MAF sensor and it runs 500% better. The SES light never originally came on - it was just running crappy, and through the help of this forum, I diagnosed that it needed replacement.

My question is this:

If the SES light never came on, will I see any advantage of resetting the ECU? (Since supposedly the ECU constantly adjusts for changes in the system).

Thanks,

Bill

what year max did you replace the maf on? on 2k2-k3 i believe the dealer does some kind of ecu update when they replace the maf. there was a tsb for 00 and 01 mafs but im not sure what is involved besides a replacement. im on my original maf with 35k and about 20k of that with an intake. out of curiousity where did you purchase the replacement from?

My car is a 2000 SE. I purchased the part from DAVE B.

I suppose if it starts acting weird I could reset the ECU.

Bill,

How do you get in touch with Dave B? I'd like to get a new sensor. Did you install it yourself or did the dealer?

He's at Southpoint Nissan in Texas. Great guy. Tell him you're from Maxima.org forum. 888-254-6060. Ask for Dave Burnette (there are 2 Daves).

Cost was about $85. I installed it myself - pretty easy.

E-mail me off-list if you'd like more info.
