What a difference an inch makes.

I finally got rid of the stock 16s. I put on some clean 17s. Thanks to SterlingMist00. Check homepage http://members.cardomain.com/rosadeno

nice rims. I got the same 17 in stock six spoked rims on my 02 max. I'm
going to replace my rims with Mille Miglia Spider II rims in about 3 weeks
once I get my bonus. They're 18x8. Enjoy your new rims

I know how you feel.

My SE came with the stock 16" alloys, and I won an eBay bid on the 17" wheels a while ago. So now I have the 17" wheels in my garage waiting for me to save some dough so I can slap new rubber on them. Still waiting...and waiting... Oh well, I'll get around to it someday. I can't justify new tires yet since I just got a new set for the 16"s late last year. That's what happens when you have three kids, a house, two cars, and many other bills to worry about.

Looks good, though.

Hey, what's the performance difference for going from 17's down to 16's? (mine came stock with 17's, and I must admit those biznitches are HEAVY!)

I got those with the car. When I get a chance I can try to find a manufacturer name for you.

i'm still trying to get some OEM 17s for my 4th gen. Evidently they are damn hard to come by at a reasonable price in the tri - state area! There are like 4-5 "WTB" posts in the for sale forum for these

You can get a set (front and rear windows) of wind/rain deflectors here:

http://www.autoseattle.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=72249

$85.00. I've made purchases from AutoSeattle a few times and they've been great. Good prices and quick delivery.

AutoAnything also sells them for $80.00:

http://www.autoanything.com/deflecto...cat=deflectors

Peace.

I currently have the stock 16" wheels. Does the 17" wheels slow the car down much? I am reluctant to upgrade to anything bigger than 16" wheel because:

1) bigger turning radius
2) slower acceleration (due to bigger diameter & weight)
3) bumpier ride quality

Beside looks and some handling improvements, what benefit/s when upgrade to larger wheels? FYI, I care more for the performance, not looks, without compromising ride comfort...so does it worth it to upgrade to larger wheels, performancewise?

eBay...

'02/'03 SE 17" 6-spokes (curb rash on one wheel; looks like missing center caps on three wheels):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2434662676

'02/'03 SE 17" 6-spokes (wheels look clean; comes with Potenza RE92s):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2434876996

If you're patient, eventually you can find a good deal on eBay. I kept missing auction after auction because I refused to go past $500 for a full set of OEM 17" wheels. Finally I got a set for $450, so I was happy. If you're in no hurry, just wait.

If you want a set really bad, you can go with replica wheels. A few .ORG members have went that route with no problems.

Peace.

thanks but i think ebay is often overpriced. A set for 450$ with rubber? or without?

I won't go past 500-550$ with tires for 00/01 and 550$-600$ for 02/03 and i'll pay 700$+ for Titanium edition. I rather get them without tires but I won't pay more than 350$ or so that way..

ebay is still damn high + 100$ to ship them.. i rather not unless the seller is local.

but thanks

$450 with tires...although the tires are running low on good tread, but I got some fun out of them before I put my 16" wheels back on. Now I gotta save for new tires. It was still an excellent deal at the time.
