Getting codes checked at the dealer is not free. It's 80 dollars at my dealer just to hook it up. Take ur car to Autozone and get the codes pulled for free. Some autozones will use the newer OBD II scanner that will tell you what's wrong, and some may have the old ones that just gives u the code. In that case, get the code and if u cant find out what the problem is come back here and post ur code.
thx fezzik ima do just that. and your right it is 80 bucks just for hook up. then they tell you what is needed to be fixed. and if that sucker is not in waranty, your in for something.... thats why i didn't wana take it to the dealer... well thx again for the advice. i didn't know that autozone does this kinda thing..
sure but wont this have an effect on my car in a long run. i mean it says check it right. so i guess there could be something wrong with it. but if everything else is kewl ima just do that.

My car started sputtering the other day and then it ran fine, so I thought I'd have it checked, turns out my MAF had failed after 145K on the original.
It's a good thing to have something abnormal checked right away because you may end up breaking something else as a result of not fixing the small problem first and then end up paying more in the long run.

If it comes back on after you've unplugged your battery then something probably is not right.
