I had problems with the A-pillar and Bose radio rattle. I fixed them easily. For the A-pillar, I bought some 1/4" weather stripping that has a sticky backside. I placed some inbetween where the A-pillars and the dash meet. It fixed the squeak problem. I cut up some notecards for the bose radio rattle. I stuck some intbeteen the gaps to absorb the vibration and shock. It worked and now my car is all quiet...

...Except for that annoying rear window windnoise on windy days going on the highway.

Scans

Can someone scan all 24 pages for those who don't have access to a fax machine. It would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Y2KSE,

Does that mean you have access to all the TSBs? (oooohhhh what a question that is!)

If so fax/scan them all and someone can post it.

YIKES!!!

I've been out of town for a couple of days and when I got back there were 14 requests for the TSB. At 24 pages per copy, that's a little bit more than my fax machine can stand.

Here's what I'm going to do. I'll scan the entire TSB this weekend and zip it down. Then I'll e-mail the zipped file to all you guys that requested it.

Thanks for your patience.

14 copies e-mailed . . .

more to come. If you want a copy, send me an e-mail. It's easier to attach it to a reply than to copy and paste your e-mail address out of the forum.

Also, be forewarned. The zip file is almost 2.5MB in size.

***HEADS UP***

Some of you guys aren't able to download a 2.5MB file! Before you send me your e-mail address, check to make sure your service will allow you to download large files.

FYI, services like Yahoo and Hotmail have file size restrictions. If you send me a Yahoo or Hotmail address, I'll try sending the file to you. But if you don't get it, you know the reason why.

I'll host this for you, if you would like, meaning I'll put it on my website and we can just link to it.

E-mail me and let me know if interested.

BTW: I saw some "Help!" pieces, those red parts you find at the automotive stores with a million mix-and-match type replacement parts, that were labeled something like "rattle wedges".

The pieces looked like wedges you shove into groves to eliminate noises. I do not know if they work. Of all the stores I visited with the "Help!" sections, only one has the "wedges". They are metal but covered in felt.

A question came to mind when I saw this thread.
If they are going to take your interior apart and put it back on, wouldn't the crappy nissan machanics produce more rattles than before due to out-of-alignment installation?

Well, hell. I didn't know somebody posted them already.

Nonetheless, I have posted them as well:

http://www.fourthrock.com/maxima/

Choose "Issues" and look in the "Interior" section.

y2kse -- this is great info!! And I thought I was the only one with a rattling $900 option they call a BOSE Audio System!!@#$%^&* I notice most of the rattling in the rear area, predominantly the rear parcel shelf. I'm thinking DynaMat would help eliminate that (other than what's described in the TSB). Any other suggestions?? Anyhow, for other problem areas...are most of you doing the work yourself or are you just bringing your Maxima to the dealer and having them do it...?? You might as well if your car is under warranty right?? Input please...thanks!

Absolutely take it into your dealer. Take a copy of the TSB with you as well. And fill out the questionnaire yourself!

Felt tape

Where can I pick up the felt tape they use in the TSB? Is that available in some auto accessory shops?

The dealer installed the so called Foam Kit on my car when I took my car in for rattling noise, since then it has been good, but still when i hit the bump or something i can still hear noise in contact with my radar detector!!!!
