What do you think? I'm talking about gloss red on the OEM's. Complete the look or Uncle Ben? Peace.

Yeah, I think most will say rice for red. Unless you go silver or black it tends to be a bit showy.

But it's your car, if you like it, go for it!

Once I get the motivation (I'm pretty lazy) I'm planning on going with silver for my Merlot.

I used the G2 silver kit. I bought it from www.wheelskin.com. There are pics on my webpage. I like the silver color. It looks great with the clear corners and the silver part of the headlight housing from the side. It's just a little bit darker than the stock wheels.

Porsche's red calipers aren't ricey because they are big brake kits. Painting calipers to look like BBKs is somewhat ricey.

IMO, it's borderline rice. I actually had red calipers on my 2K, but after a few months I started thinking they looked ricey. But to each their own.

Good luck keeping them clean. I thought red was hard to maintain, but white?? You'll be repainting them every 6 months.

just got the red paint, some of the members on the .org did a great job painting theirs. Really feeling the red and silver color. I have a red frankencar intake, a silver fstb with the red letters, so i went with red.

its not really rice, because you just trying to brighten up your OEM brake kit. well... if you bought a big brake kit, and started too paint on it (I dont know why you would want to do that), then there is a problem.

kloogy, is right...all Porsches have them red
It all depends bro, if the only thing you have done to your car is painted the Caliper red, then i would consider that rice
But if you have more stuff done to your car like better brakes lowering maybe rims i dunno i would consider that nice...
but thats my opinion!

cars only look ricey if people decide to paint thier drums as well, that looks so horrid.
mine calipers are a medium blue, i think they look awesome, not alot of people really notice them much though, stock rims hide them rather well i guess.

Agreed. Majesctic blue is a very nice color,no doubt about that. G2 Caliper Paints are one of the best, don't spray paint.

I dont think you can say a mod is ricey or not untill you see it on the car. I think, as long as you're car looks clean overall, that's the important thing.

Just curious.....but why do you have hood pins on a stock hood.....I thought the only use for those was if there was no front latch.....

The hood pins are there from the hood flutter that most of us 5th gens have. The hood pins don't let the hood move at all.

I think pretty much any color will work as long as it goes with the car's color, i.e. yellow wouldn't go with grey as well as it would go with blue. But even that is a matter of taste, I guess. I like red, maybe I will do that mod some time...

I think any color that compliments your car color will look good. As long as it's not neon green....now that rice!! I painted mine a very dark gunmetal and the brackets black. They look nice with my gunmetal wheels. On my Navy Blue Camaro SS I have them painted red with black brackets.

I need to take pics of my calipers but haven't had a chance. I do have pics of my red calipers on my SS:
