go back to your dealer...tell them theyre retarded morons. Your intake is more than fine. Mine isn't even strapped down to anything, and im using a Franken car midpipe. If you have excelent hi-end power, and experience no bucking/ resisitance around 2500/3000 rpm your MAF is fine. Like i said im at about 51000 miles, 48000 miles with the frankencar and nothing bad has happend. Maf failure for my 2k2 was due to over oiling and ECU overcooking maf.

i am a little confussed, perhaps by the terminology. a k&n drop in is simply a stock replacement that goes inside the stock air box. second, k&n does not make a midpipe for us. there are a few makes of midpipes such as franken, homemade, upper piece from CAI and a few berk ones. if your maf was bad then you would know it. the cel would light up and you would not be able to rev over around 3k rpms. i think the dealer may have been looking for a little profit since they dont make much on oil changes unless you paid them for a synthetic one. last time i saw a brochure, they charged 69 for a syntheic job. anyways, i dont even use a bracket on mine and ive no maf issues as of yet.

yeap...he has a K&N cone filter with a K&N MAF adaptor. Bad MAF dosent always trigger CEL, a failing maf will not trigger it. I accidentally threw mine across the garage and so did Emax. No problems.
