Very quiet? Some people here says it sounds ricey and no gains. I have been hesitant to put mine on that i bought about 1 1/2 month ago, now after reading this i'm starting to consider putting it on now.

It was really loud and ricy from me so I got RT cat conv. on but I feel less power with just about the same ricy sound......so I might as well put my racing pipe back on.......I guess mines really loud cuz I'm running Greddy catback, Stillen Ypipe and SCer......

damn I'm running the greddy cat-back too with PR CAI so I can expect it to be ricey.

I have the WSP B pipe , with NO resonator and my Powertech muffler. I heard no noise increase when I bolted it up. It took me a few minutes, easy install.

I'm using the custom maxima straight pipe with Greddy exhaust. The sound is perfectly acceptable.
Sounds damn good as a matter of fact.

I think it's the Y-pipe is the one that make Straight Pipe really loud.....

No codes, but i have no o2 sensors on or after my cat. I'm not sure about the 00-01's.

I don't know if it makes a difference but the custom maxima straight pipe has a resonator

i have a fedspec, with ypipe and gutted cat, and full exhaust. ive had the cat gutted for over a month now, and no codes. My take on it is that, as long as ur not using a power adder, aka turbo, sc or nitrous, the maxima is tuned conservatively enough, that as long as the engine is at operating temperature, its *** and NOx output, is well within compliancy range.

Its not a fact, because there are people that have removed the cat and received engine codes withing a matter of days. Not sure if the ones that havent gotten codes are the exception or rule.

Woo Cho is right, the Y pipe makes it a lot louder. I had the Y pipe on for a while and it was ridiculously loud. The Custommaxima Straight pipe does have a built in resonator , and it looks bulky from the exterior, which helps in case you get pullled over for a visual inspection. It can easily trick a cop into thinking its an aftermarket cat.

Exactly. y-pipe/test pipe combo makes even the stock b-pipe/muffler sound raspy.

Not sure about gains b/c I haven't dyno'd yet, but I seem to feel some gains? Problem is the noise definitely increased. I think it might be an exhaust leak b/c of the crappy "paper" custommaxima gaskets. I'm gonna order some OEM ones and see if that makes a difference...

just wondering.......

Would the Cat. Converter from warpspeed be as good as the racepipe but being quieter?
I thought someone claim the Warpspeed ones are better than RT just cause of the material they use inside.

Comments?

on a rating of 1 to 10 how would you describe the increase of noise.

Well my WSP Y was loud until I semi-'fixed' the hanger issue. Now with the straight pipe it's quite a bit louder, and I'm almost positive there's an exhaust leak. I torqued the sh*t out of those bolts, so I'm almost positive it's coming from the gaskets...

I don't think that's gonna help cuz I put 2 gaskets and still the same......I know exactly wut ur talking about the noise it sounds like there's leak in a exhaust.

Are you saying you have 2 gaskets on each side of the pipe? Or are you saying you tried the CM ones, and now have the OEM ones on?

Sorry I'm just a bit confused...

I have a race pipe for sale. Mint condition. Replaces stock cat. For cars that do not need an o2 in the cat.
