I was wondering if nissan has done a tsb on the worped-rotors problem. My dealer here in CA. wouldn't cover the
front brakes when they were worped @ 31k, but I dealt with
nissan (1-800) and they reimbursed me $200.00 for the machining & pad replacement.
Now I'm @ 49k and all 4 rotors are worped. The rears just took a little longer. The service manager drove with me, agreed that they were worped and got in touch with the factory. He says all they will do is machine all 4 rotors. They will not replace. If there's a tsb (that suggests replacements) I might have more leverage.
Thanks,
Dave

Do you guys also have problems with brake fade? I was thinking on getting the big brake from stillen. Does any one have the big brake setup?

All four of mine are warped also. I measured them with a dial indicator. My car has 11K. They started pulsating at 9k!! Trust me! My dealer will replace them or all hell will break loose!

I must be the luckiest person on this board. Got almost 13K on my Maxima...no warped (not worped) rotors. What are you guys doing to warp your rotors? Do you guys brake late? Ride the brakes? etc? I did a full 2 1hr road races on my maxima (1.2miles, lap times averaged at 1min 22secs), meaning i went roughly 117.6 miles racing...and my rotors are still good. Maybe the fact that i have aftermarket rims play a huge role. Since the aftermarket rims are much larger and allow more air to enter and more heat to escape.

A lot of warping occurs when a hot rotor comes in contact with water. This can happen not only in the rain or snow, but when you wash the car. The rain part of it you really can't control, but try not to wash your car until your wheels have cooled down.

Just pull up on the parking brake while at speed (keep the button pressed in so it doesn't lock) and it will actuate only the rear brakes and you'll feel the shake if the rotors are worped. The steering wheel will vibrate if the fronts are worped. Dave
